Too early for evening thread? I don't care.

Re: Too early for evening thread? I don't care.

  • I mean I can see a difference but I guess I don't notice it enough. I just tried again and didn't see any difference. I did notice the smaller screen. We watch only HD channels.

Sooshi - If I were a teacher, I would do the exact same thing.  I don't understand why it is so hard to use language correctly.  I don't even really like it in texts, because I am the one person that doesn't know the abbreviation and don't understand it.  But at least it has a place there.  In schoolwork and businesses though, it just shouldn't happen.

  • It's more obvious to me when it's something that involves bright lighting, like sports or the news. For regular movies and such, and it's a bit more subtle.
  • I feel stupid having a ticker when it's not even moving. How boring. :(

Ok, apparently I do notice. This just reminded me of when we first watched blue ray on the tv and I kept thinking it looked so weird and fake because they were right there. The show I just put on is old so it might not have been made in HD. I don't think I notice though if you don't tell me which it is.

  • Sleeping Beauty is the best Disney movie ever. We're using Tchaikovsky's Waltz from Sleeping Beauty as our recessional from the ceremony - Once Upon a Dream is based on that little tune :)

I love watching HD but tend to forget that we have it. Plus I have the regular channel numbers memorized but not the HD ones, and it's a pain to flip through 900 channels to find it.

My mom did something similar to me.

I lived at home freshman year of college.  The only computer we had at the time was mine (which I paid for myself).  Everyone else liked to use it for games and stuff and frequently interrupted me (it was in my room) to use it.  I got sick of it and password protected it and left a note saying if you wanted to use it, you needed to ask permission.  I came home from babysitting one night to a note on my bed saying that if I expected to control who had access to my computer and when, then I needed to start helping out around the house more.

Oh yeah... I knew they'd adapted a lot of the music, so maybe that'll be my solution. We could always use the original waltz. We both love classical music. Now I just need to find out if FI is willing to let me teach him how to waltz.
  • i haven't posted in the evening threads in a few days and I don't recognize half the posters....
i have been doing a bad job knotting.
  • Our HD channels are grouped together. We are able to use the guide button on the remote and it is pretty easy to find them.

MUNI - I am loving your wedding pictures. They are great. You look amazing.

  • We did Sleeping Beauty one year and I was in the waltz scene with the piece of music that Once Upon A Dream came from. :) Being in the corps for that ballet SUCKS though.

  • I'm at my parent's house working on invites.  I just got done stamping the postcard RSVPs and numbering each individual one to correspond with the guest list.  That way if (when) we have RSVPs returned with no name on it, we have a way to figure out who it is.

I spent the day with my mom doing wedding stuff.  I got my dress bustled and we worked on the map insert for directions to the ceremony site and reception venue.

I'm gonna be driving back late tonight. :-/  There is some pretty nasty weather on my drive home and I want to wait until the it clears up.

  • We have this really fancy entertainment system where basically everything electronic in our house gets controlled by one ridiculously expensive remote. So I'm sure there's a way to sort the channels, but it's not easily available via the remote.
  • Hockey, we pulled a bunch of new posters out of lurking this afternoon and haven't scared them off yet!

    Petal, thank you!

  • When I was in elementary school we used to put on these big elaborate plays as part of our music class.  My older sister played Maleficent and my class sang "Ding, Dong the Witch is Dead" after she died.  Apparently our music teacher didn't care that it wasn't from Sleeping Beauty.
  • The train is close to my stop, so I'll have to pick this up later. Time for Chinese food. :)

<div>lolol. that is pretty funny. Maleficent is an evil fairy named Carabosse in the ballet. Usually is played by a man. And he's a badass character. No dragons though. </div>
