    2. How many days do you get off for the holidays? The eves and the days.  I'm taking the 21st off this year JUST BECAUSE I CAN, YO.

    3. Any huge plans for the holidays? The usual, my parents' house and then going to visit the ILs.

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far? I got DH his own rock-climbing gear so he doesn't have to rent the yucky harnesses at the gym.

    5. Favorite food for the holidays? My mom makes a pretty awesome pumpkin roll

    6. Favorite Christmas movie? A Christmas Story, much to my parents' chagrin

    7. Favorite winter drink? gingerbread tea

    8. How far do you have to travel for your holiday? his family is an hour away and mine is 2 hours

    We have a five day weekend for Xmas and a Four day for New Years

    I got my mom a water belt for running since her goal is to run a half marathon in Sept., yay her! She'll be 50.

    Only about 5 miles :)

    1. Did St. Nick come to your house last night? If so, what did you get? Nope, I hadn't even heard of it till yeserday.

    2. How many days do you get off for the holidays? Just Christmas Day and New Years Day, though the Prez might give us Monday off since Christmas is on a Tuesday. I think Bush Sr did that last time.

    3. Any huge plans for the holidays? With my immediate family in Michigan. And that includes my little bro. It's been about 4 years since we spent Christmas together.

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far? FI is getting cufflinks made out of Tousot watches. He's really into watches and cufflinks this year, so it fits. I wanted to get a mongramed flask, but ran out of time. Actually, I'm going to check to see if I did or not.

    I don't think I know this tradition...

    2. How many days do you get off for the holidays?
    However many I decide to take. This year I have a half day on Christmas Eve and then I'm off until January 2nd. 

    3. Any huge plans for the holidays?
    Not really. We'll make the rounds seeing all of our families and then we're spending a few days at my parents. My mom and I plan to work on some WR stuffs. 

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far?
    I got my mom a bunch of nursing stuff for work, I'm excited about that :)

    5. Favorite food for the holidays?
    Everything.

    6. Favorite Christmas movie?
    A Christmas Story, National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation

    7. Favorite winter drink?
    Peppermint mocha, hot chocolate

    8. How far do you have to travel for your holiday?
    It's about an hour to see FI's mom, stepdad, and most of my family. My parents are about 3 hours away. 

    9. Have you started planning your NYE yet?
    Not officially but I think we're going out in Philly with a couple friends.

    Took off for two days after Xmas to visit BF's family up in CT. Otherwise staying local

    Um...I don't know?  Depends where/if I'm working.  Probably just the days right now.

    My grandparents are flying in from CA, and a friend of mine is coming home from South Africa.  We have one Christmas party, my grandparents are going with mom to Boston for New Years, and I think M and I are either going to go out with the group for New Years and not dance, OR we're boycotting and sitting on the couch.  I'll probably have to buy a piece of Ikea furniture so we can put it together like we did last year if we end up doing the latter.

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far?
    I bought mom a personalized necklace with my name and my brother's name.  I'm doing cookies/cupcakes/brownies in a jar for grandma (she won't put the stuff together herself, but she'll crave it and not do it).  And M and I are going halvsies on a vacation sometime in the spring.

    5. Favorite food for the holidays?
    Cheesecake.

    6. Favorite Christmas movie?
    Miracle on 34th St.

    7. Favorite winter drink?
    Wine.

    8. How far do you have to travel for your holiday?
    0 miles.

    St. Nick started in Germany where on the eve (Dec 4) kids would put their shoes outside (in the Us, stockings are used). The next morning kids get candy, small gifts, etc, in Germany, if you were naughty, you got coal.

    <div>When I went to Catholic school in Philly, we would do this but we'd leave our shoe outside the classroom door during 1 class and then there was always candy in them afterwards. </div>

    7 + weekends to create an 11 day break.  all paid.

    I haven't gotten much shopping done yet.  I bought a ton of Disney Princess Little People for my niece.  They are super cute!

    2.  Not enough.  I only get Christmas Day this year, and maaayyyybe Christmas Eve.  But I'm taking off a week a couple days after that to go skiing with H.

    3.  Trying to manage to see both of our families in a 48 hour window.  They live 5 hours from each other and 6 hours from me.  It's going to be interesting.

    I get the weekend off before and the 24th and 25th.

    Christmas Eve with my parents, grandma, and sister and then Christmas Day going to BF's aunts house.

    I got BF the Beatle's box set for his record player.

    Home Alone

    1. Did St. Nick come to your house last night? If so, what did you get?
    I didn't even realize this was yesterday but bf was hounding me for a gift he wanted now, so I let him open it.  In return he gave me the litter genie that I wanted for my cat (lame I know lol)

    2. How many days do you get off for the holidays? Christmas eve off early, Christmas Day off, New Years Eve off early, New Year's Day off.

    3. Any huge plans for the holidays? 
    Nothing really just a quiet day home withe bf.

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far?
    I got bf the kindle fire hd

    5. Favorite food for the holidays?
    Christmas cookies.  I can eat them all.

    6. Favorite Christmas movie?
    A Christmas Story!

    7. Favorite winter drink?
    Bailey's lol.

    u have to travel for your holiday?
    Nowhere.  The Sunday before we are meeting my parents in Brewter, NY to exchange gifts since it's halfway between where we live.  But that's the extent of the traveling.

    9. Have you started planning your NYE yet?
    Bf doesn't know if he has to work yet.

    10. Do you make Christmas cookies?
    Yes, going to make them Saturday.

    I've never heard of this.

    2. How many days do you get off for the holidays?
    The awesome part of my job - 4 weeks! Yay! I have a TON of stuff to do during that month though. I need to start working on my thesis, put together massive amounts of notes for comps, and start preping for the class I get to teach next semester.

    3. Any huge plans for the holidays?
    Not really. I'm visiting my parents.

    4. What is the best gift you got for someone so far?
    I'm getting BF a beer of the month thing. Every month they send him 12 microbrews. He is going to LOVE it!

    5. Favorite food for the holidays?
    Peppermint...anything :)

    6. Favorite Christmas movie?
    Either A Christmas Story or the Grinch (the animated one not the Jim Carry one I HATE that one)

    7. Favorite winter drink?
    I don't really have one.

    8. How far do you have to travel for your holiday?
    It would be a 9 to 10 hour drive but I'm flying so it's two flights and then a 45 minute drive from the airport to my house.

    9. Have you started planning your NYE yet?
    Nope. I have no idea what we are going to do. There isn't much to do in a small town in Idaho.

    10. Do you make Christmas cookies?
    Every year. It's an all day baking event. My mom and I usually make abouy 6 or 7 different kinds (which results in hundreds of cookies) and then deliver them to various family friends.

    No. . . I vaguely, vaguely remember this.

    Just the days, and a half day on the eves. BLOWS.

    Nope.

    I haven't gotten anybody anything yet. In the past, I think my ipod to BF a few years ago might have been my best.
