Housewarming eats?

We're having a housewarming party on Saturday and I'm stuck on food.  So far we'll be having a few dips, a Chick-Fil-A platter and some desserts.  What else is pretty easy and finger food-y?  There will be about 25-30 people if that matters.

  • Do a crusty brie:  wrap a wedge of Brie in Pillsubry cresent roll dough, bake for a bit longer than the instructions say.  This ALWAYS goes over well!

I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

  • mags- Do you just roll them up like a normal crescent with the ham, cheese, and mustard inside?  That sounds delicious! I've always heard pinwheels used to describe those ham, cream cheese, and pickle rollup things. Those are delicious too.

  • We always make toasted ravioli:

One large package (or more, depending on how many people are coming by) fresh spinach and cheese ravioli
    One cup bread crumbs
    One tbsp Italian seasoning
    Two tbsp parmesan cheese
    pinch of salt and pepper
one egg, plus a dash of water
    **********************

Preheat your oven to 350. Beat the egg and water together, then dip the ravioli into the egg, then into the bread crumbs mixed with the parmesan and seasonings. Bake the ravioli for about 10 minutes, or until they puff up and turn golden brown.

While they're baking, you can make this super easy dip:

    One can diced tomatoes, drained
Two roasted red peppers (the jarred ones are great for this)
    One or two garlic cloves
    Splash of olive oil
    Salt and Pepper to taste
    ***************************

Throw the sauce ingredients into a blender/food processor and blend til smooth. Serve at room temp with warm ravioli.
  • I can't wait to run some of these by the other half.  I'm especially excited about the pinwheel and ravioli though, I've never had either of those and they deeeelicious.

  • September's bride- where are you from? I thought toasted ravioli was just a St. Louis thing!  I've never met anyone in my life who has heard of toasted ravioli who hadn't been to St. Louis. Our rehearsal dinner was actually at the restaurant where they were invented.  The chef accidentally dropped ravioli in a fryer, and voila! The best food mistake ever. I love toasted rav.
