NWR: Amazon reward points? Where'd they go???

Alright guys. I logged on to my amazon account yesterday to order a CD for my boss. When I checked out it let me know that I had a bunch of rewards points (or some sort of points) totalling $50 worth and change. I didn't use any since I used the card my boss provided; it wasn't a gift or anything he just doesn't like doing online stuff himself.

I got excited about that $50 since I'm a broke little jokester and don't have a gift for FI yet, so today I went on and picked out some stuff. I was so excited to find some really good deals, including a gorgeous butterfly stamp to personalize my wedding, haha. My total was around $30, I went to check out, and there are no points in sight. Just wants me to pay with my card. Well, I could, but...... I'd rather get it for free and use my pretty points that were there yesterday. :(

I'm so bummed. Does anyone know how this works? I've never used points before. I think I got them from using some sort of card but I don't know. It just said I had them and now it doesn't and I wish I knew where to look or what's going on.... ??

  • Hmm... that is weird. They may have expired?

I buy from Amazon a lot and I have never been given points so I really know nothing about this....

  • The only Amazon rewards I have heard of are like when you have the Amazon Visa card.  I know sometimes when I go to check out, it asks if I would like to apply and I would get x dollar amount credit towards my purchase.  Could it maybe have been something like that?

  • Whew, finally figured it out! I had to re-enter my card information for the rewards Visa card (like you're talking about, Tiffany). Which was hard since that card is at home, but I looked at my billing statement online to find the card number and guessed at the expiration date until I got it right. :-P

I'm so excited though, ladies! I got a beautiful butterfly rubber stamp and dark purple ink to personalize wedding stuff with, two hard cases for FI and my phones, clear protector screens, the Footloose soundtrack, and a knife sharpener for FI. That's four gifts for FI... whew! All for less than $50, shipped. I was stressed about our first Christmas and not having money to buy him a gift, so that was awesomefantastic. Plus now I can stamp my STD envelopes before sending them since they'll be here in a couple days.... :-D
