Is it the end of the world if we only register at one place?

We are having a small (40 people) destination wedding, with no at-home reception.  We were not going to register at all, however, it has slipped through the cracks that a surprise shower is in the works.  So, it was requested that we register.

Our thought was to register at BB&B and Macy's.  BB&B was all done, and we went to Macy's with the intention of finishing.  Almost everything, with the exception of about 2-3 items are also available at BB&B for cheaper.  So we decided to delete our Macy's registry and just do BB&B.

Is this THAT bad?  When I talked to my mom (who doesn't know that I know about the shower), she suggested that we think of another place to register.

Considering we weren't going to register at all, I'm feeling like BB&B is plenty.  Am I nuts???

  • Personally I think that's fine, especially for a small destination wedding. Pick stuff at a variety of price points. If your guests don't want to shop at Bed Bath and Beyond they can give you a card/cash if they want to give something else. Then, call it a day.

Thanks Ladies!  I am going to stick with one and call it a day.  There is plenty to choose from on the BB&B registry.
  • Sounds perfectly fine to me.
  • This is exactly the situation I found myself in, and I also chose to only register with BBB. Overall it worked out well, although there was one minor snag in my situation. My registry was rather small as we had already accumulated a lot of houshold items over the years, and the whole registry was bought out before all guests were able to buy gifts. The remaining guests all decided to get me BBB giftcards since I suppose they could not think of anywhere else I would want to shop. As I'd already stretched my imagination to make my registry as big as it was I was left with several hundred dollars to BBB and no idea what to do with it. I'm slowly coming up with things to use it on... Anyway, I'm not sure if this would even be an issue for you but figured I would share just in case.
