is second guessing your dress normal

I got a call today that my dress came in (a week earlier then i expected) I was excited for about 2 minutes then i was really upset starting to wish i had gotten the other dress (i have ordered my dress in January) I was stuck between 2 dresses and my fiance accidentally saw a picture of one and he didnt like it so i didnt order it now im wishing i had. Is it normal to second guess your dress?

Re: is second guessing your dress normal

  • Yup. I did for a really, really long time. Now I can't picture myself wearing anything else!
  • Yes, it's completely normal to have that feeling. Don't worry, hopefully, when you get it on, you will remember all of the things that you love about it.  There's a reason you ordered it!
  • Yes i did. Then one of my bm's emailed me a picture from the try on. Everytime I start to second guess, I check my email and look at the pic. Then I remember why I picked that one. :)

  • It wasn't normal for me, I am so in love with my dress. try it on again and if you really dont have the feeling that you love it or that you can't see yourself wearing it at your wedding maybe you should look into exchanging it.
  • I have been second guessing my dress since the day I bought it.  I know it's beautiful, and I know it will look amazing on the day of the wedding, but it was just so not what I expected my dress to look like that I've been feeling like maybe I should have kept looking.  Thankfully, I hear that lots of brides have this feeling of being unsure, and in the end, we all know that we'll look beautiful no matter what.  Your mom is totally right - in 5 years, the details won't matter, even the dress (the biggest detail of all!).
