Wedding Woes

she really WAS the debil. I now don't feel guilty for any of the 'speaking ill of the dead' I've don

so, for years, MIL has been the person who would have to deal w/ her mom's estate.  There was a trust and will registered at the courthouse by both her parents.  This was well known.

G-Ma-IL was well known for her passive-agressive-game-playing-bitchiness.  She decided to fluck w/ MIL from beyond the grave.

In the storage unit--which was a cluttered-disasterous mess, set aside, clean and labled, were g-ma-IL's journals.
Right where the'd be easy to find.  (Probably put there fairly recently, according to FIL, based on the amount of dust and not--so probably put there once g-ma-IL knew she was dying/going into hospice).

These aren't her 'real' journals, they're just 3 volumes of how horrid a person MIL is.  G-ma-IL decided to detail everything she hated about MIL (only MIL, not her  other kids) and leave them for her to find.

I have seething anger.  I think this will make the funeral that much more stabby.  I could use 'please don't kill someone or say something inappropriate vibes' for Thursday.

(and we told MIL to just burn them, not read them but she can't not read them...I wouldn't be able to not read them either.)

This reminds me of the Gilmore Girls episode where Lorelai's paternal grandmother passes away and her mom (Emily) is going through all of grandma's estate, only to find a letter written to her husband on the night before their wedding, encouraging him to leave Emily at the altar.

Have you ever seen the movie "The Shipping News"?

The Judi Dench character had been raped and impregnanted by her father, I believe (I could be mistaken about the relationship).  Father passed away and had been creamated.  JD took his ashes to an outhouse, dumped them down the hole and relieved herself right after.

Somehow this would be a fitting sendoff.

I need to rent that, I love JudiDench

I think I've been offered some of the ashes...but I'm fairly sure MIL would be pissed if I did that.

THe 'best' I can say is that I hope it was the 'illness' (narcassism) making her do this.  But it's hard to say 'it was the illness talking' when the illness is not having a soul.

    That is BSC for sure.

I loved "shipping news".  Very touching and yes, I think that telling is right on.

she deserves whatever she gets in the afterlife, that's for sure.  what a terrible thing to do to your own child.
