The tongue hanging out look is one of my favorite things ever.

J - G is a hot mess. Oskie is very polite with the tree, but with G I totally feel your pain. He has already chewed part of the tinsel in half, broken one of the ornaments and pulled at least 30 other ones down. We've only had it up since last Friday. Every time I fix the skirt, it's crumpled into a ball at the base of the tree in like a half hour.

Oh, Baby G! I have a feeling that's what it will be like around the J&K residence this Christmas. But I love Christmas trees so damn much that i'm willing to take the chance.

Haha you would not like looking at my tree too closely then! It's just a total hodge podge of ornaments. None of them match but they all have a memory so I totally love it. Someday I'll have multiple trees and one will match and one will have my random assortment of ornaments!

When I was young my job was to put out the nativity scene every year. Years passed and my older brother bought my childhood home when dad died. And lo and behold no one knows where the nativity went. I told DH this story, and he bought me a new one this year. I love it.

No, we've had the candy cane holder for years and years. It was my mom's, and she gave it to me when H and I moved here. The snowman I got from Walmart, I think. I have other little things around the house, like a big nutcracker and a light-up penguin, and a wreath in the bathroom, but there is no rhyme or reason to the placement.

The little nutcrackers by the snowman used to be tree ornaments, but the strings broke :( Oh, and the elf next to the tree is named Bernie.

Sesh, I hate when ornament strings break. Especially when they're not really replaceable. At least you found an alternate use for them!

The cats aren't too interested in the tree. Teddie is more interested in the black trash bag that is folded up under the tree skirt. He is a black trash bag licker. I think he was dropped on his head as a kitten.

This snowman was sitting in front of the glass fireplace cover and his head somehow caught on fire.

Haha, poor snowman! I had a cat growing up that licked bags too. Even plastic grocery bags. Gross.

My parents' cat licks everything. She has a grooming obsession. She grooms people, the carpet, the furniture, blankets, her toys, etc. She tries to bite your rings off if she's grooming your hand. And if you try to take your hand away, she'll try to grab you with her claws and hold it down to keep grooming it. She's got some serious compulsions, poor little thing.

I'll try to take a pic of our tree tonight. Our kitties are only allowed downstairs while supervised since my damn cat makes a beeline for the vase of peacock feathers on the mantel (she's broken a few already) and I have to remove the vase when it's kitty socializing time.

Our cats like to explore the water in the basin under the tree. This year I've wrapped the tree in TWO skirts to keep kitties out!

J&K- my cat likes to chew on crinkly plastic (like what cottage cheese/sour cream get sealed with) and will grab it in her mouth and run with it so I can't take it away from her. Her sister likes to lick and/or lie on plastic grocery bags.

ha ha that totally counts! Growing up we didn't have a fireplace so we always hung ours on the wall by the Christmas tree.

We have three little ones for our dogs, too. We figured they needed some Santa love as well.
