Re: Saturday Night

• H has a hockey game tonight so we just had buffalo chicken wraps for dinner and then I watched Black Swan. Interesting movie.
• I want to rent Black Swan.

• Black Swan was good.  I don't really like Natalie Portman all that much.. But love Mila Kunis!  I wish I had her eyes..
image
• I found it a bit confusing. I am still not sure if I understood what was going on.
• Ha, true. I kind of like movies that make you think, and really have to pay attention to.  I *think* I understood Black Swan, but if not, at least my version makes a bit of sense, haha.

i didnt like Black Swan.

I hate when they make dance movies and dont use dancers.  It bugs me because I know they are faking it.

<div>I was thinking about this while I was watching, if real dancers could see mistakes in the dancing. </div>
Blue, do you mean when they train beforehand? What about Center Stage?  I am pretty sure those were actual dancers.
Posted by edielaura
Center Stage was dancers, for the most part.

I dont know how to explain it.  I get that Natalie Portman trained hard, and she got pretty good, however, what I saw in the movie bugged me because technically speaking she would never be dancing that role with that level of dancing.  Maybe only dancers notice it?

• I thought Black Swan was weird, I'm still not sure if I liked it or not.

DH and I just had a nice dinner out and now he is making us hot chocolate.

I'm watching Scorned.

• Blue, I can understand that.  Though, for a movie about the ballet, it didn't seem like there was an actual lot of dancing.  Even when there was dancing, I felt like the camera was focussing elsewhere, or doing creative shots that didn't show the actual dancing.

Overall, it was a disturbing, but intriguing movie, in my opinion.

Has anyone seen any good movies recently?  I just FINALLY rented The Help, and thought it was awesome.  Emma Stone is fantastic. Who'da thunk that the random girl from Superbad would be so good?

• If you like Emma Stone, you should see Easy A.

• We are working our way through the 2nd season of Downton Abbey that DH made appear on our XBOX somehow. Its even better than the first season, drama wise. I'm enjoying it.

The boy is in bed. He was really sleep today, maybe because of his shots yesterday, but I'm not complaining. He NEVER naps on the weekend and slept over an hour this morning and over 2 hours this aftenoon. Then we went to Old Navy to get him more pants and PJs, but the selection sucked.

We had baguette, tomatoes, red peppers, cucumbers and feta for dinner. That's actually a common dinner in our house.

• Evening. I'm watching Drive Me Crazy on netflix. I haven't watched Black Swan. Easy A is a really good movie if you like Emma Stone.

• I read the Help and enjoyed it but haven't seen the movie. We saw Hugo a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed it, way more than I thought I would.

I want to see the new Tom Hanks movie but I know it will make me bawl like a baby so I'm not going yet.

• Yup, seen Easy A, and that's what sealed the deal on her for me.

The new Tom Hanks movie looks good.. Especially with Sandra Bullock in it.  But I'm pretty sure it's a tear jerker.  Those kind of movies you have to be in the mood for.

That sounds absolutely delicious! And so fresh!  Wow, I just ate dinner, but I'm drooling over that, haha.

• I haven't read the help yet. I think it might be next on my list.

We watched Crazy Stupid Love and Friends with Benefits and they were both pretty good.
• Actually, it looks like Emma Stone is going to be on SNL tonight, lol.

I liked Crazy Stupid Love a LOT.  Friends With Benefits started really rough, but it got better.  It's funny, Emma Stone is a common denominator in both of those.

• I feel like I am missing something because I don't really think SNL is all that funny.

Don't feel bad. I just had to look Emma Stone up on IMDB because I don't have any idea who she is. I still don't. I guess I've skipped every one of her movies.

• I think SNL is only sometimes funny.  I think it used to be much better, but they don't have anyone super awesome on the show anymore.  I like Kristin Wiig, but she gets boring fast.  When she's being herself, and funny, that's great.  But she has a couple characters that are just NOT normal, and that's supposed to be the main reason why it's funny, and it's not.  Bridesmaid was good because she was acting like an (almost) normal human being.

• Damn you guys for making me crave fried food at 11:15 pm.  When I'm supposed to be on a "diet" (ha), too.  At least I don't have anything fried around to give into the temptation, though.  I have 0 willpower when it comes to food.
image
• And I don't think SNL has been funny since...the late 90's, probably.
