Bridal Dress Stores in Toronto

Hi all,

I am starting the search for my dress, and was wondering if anyone could recommend good wedding dress stores in Toronto? I recently moved here from Halifax and have no idea where to start!

Thanks!

Re: Bridal Dress Stores in Toronto

  • Lower budget with a huge variety you can check out David's Bridal. They have a comprehensive website as well so you can look around before you go in, check out styles and prices.

There are tons of smaller boutiques downtown, my SIL got hers at Ritche Bridal.  It all depends which designers you like and how much you want to spend!
  • David's Bridal has a pretty decent selection.  Also try Sophie's Bridal Gowne Shoppe in Etobicoke - awesome service.  Bea Shawn Fashions in Brampton - buy a regular priced dress there and alterations are included. I do also recommend The Bride's Project and Windfall - dresses there are donated by bridal salons, both new and already loved dresses - prices range from $99 - about $2000, but the 2K dresses are new and worth over 10K.  The proceeds go to women's charities and both are run by volunteers.

A lot will definitely depend on your budget.  Recommendation - take a look at some sites like Maggie Sottero, David's Bridal, Vera Wang or bridal magazines to see what you like. When you go to the stores, try them on, and try a few suggested by the consultant.  You never know what you may fall in love with - sometimes what looks awesome on the hanger, doesn't always look good on you.  :)
  • I got my dress at Sophie's Bridal Gowne Shoppe, but at the location in Kitchener. It's where we got BM dresses too. Great place.

  • Thank you for your suggestions! I want to try on at least a few tea-length gowns. Do most stores have at least some tea-length selections?
  • Not sure where you are located, but Coach House Bridal Salon in Waterdown has some tea length gowns.  They also had fair prices.

  • Any suggestions for formal gown shops?  I'm thinking of getting a blue wedding dress, and it has been a little frustrating trying to find stores in the GTA that have formal blue dresses - most of the blue dresses are just sheaths.  On the internet there was this "Toronto Bridal Outlet" that is supposed to be off the 401 and Renforth - does anyone have any knowledge about it?  It's dresses were closer to what I was looking for.  http://www.torontobridaloutlet.com/
Also, I just went to David's Bridal in Scarborough, and I didn't really care for the experience.  They might have just been having an off day, but the customer service was very lacking.  Also, no long formal blue dresses . . .

not sure if you've already gone dress shopping, but if you are looking for tea length gowns there is a lovely vintage store on queen west that makes custom wedding dresses, with a good number of them being tea length.

check their website not just for the dress styles, but also their real brides.

i just bought my dress in toronto and went to beckers, mrs. bridal, and white toronto.  if you need any info i'd be happy to let you know about my experience.

    good luck!
