Marriage License after wedding..

Hi we got married 5-29-11. Our church sent the signed marriage license into the state of Ohio. We have not received the stamped/sealed original back in the mail. Anyone know how long this usually takes? I need this to change my name at DMV, social security, etc. Thank you!

    In most states you have to order how many you need. What the officiant sent in is just for public records. You should have been informed at the time you got your license how much it would cost for copies for use to change you name.

    Ex: We got married in SC. When we got back to Ohio, we printed off a paper online and sent it in with the money orders to pay for how many copies we needed. Call your local courthouse where the license was filed.

    Did you prepay to receive a copy after it was sent in and processed?  We prepaid when we went to get our license.  It took about 2 weeks to get our copy in the mail.  If you didn't prepay then you'll have to request a copy.
