Long story short a bridesmaid suggested FI and I take the limo back to the reception venue ourselves after the ceremony. The bridesmaids will be riding in a limo from the venue (where we're getting ready) to the ceremony. We thought they could carpool with the groomsmen who will be meeting at the church and getting ready there. The reason it was suggested is so FI and I get our own getaway after the fact, hoping that we could realize what we've done, enjoy ourselves for the next few minutes (the difference between ceremony and reception venues is literally a few miles). We don't live together, don't see much of each other alone, my parents are strict and protective. We just thought this would be a fun start to a new beginning.
We asked the bridesmaids - they don't care. Groomsmen would already have their vehicles at the ceremony site unless we could change our plans and make sure they will have vehicles at the reception site so they could ride in the limo.
I'm sure etiqutte is against me. Do I take the few minutes alone with him? Or do we change plans and not leave anyone out, and have all bridal party together at the end of the ceremony?
