Moms and Maids

I need some advice

I have been engaged for over 2 years and am just now starting to plan my wedding and hope to get married in May of 2011, and I am having a big issue with picking bridesmaids. I want my sister to be the maid of honor.. but I have 5 really close friends and a FSIL to think about as well. Is it too much to ask all 7 people? I just don't want any hurt feelings, and one of my friends already flipped out about not being asked to be in another friends wedding. I just really don't want to choose one friend over another because I love them all!

I don't think it's too much to ask all 7 people if that is what you want. You have to take into account though that you will be paying for bouquets and bridesmaids gifts. Keep in mind that the more bridesmaids you have, the more the cost of your wedding will be.
I'm going to have about 8 bridesmaids and I wondered if that is too much as well. Like you, I don't want to choose one person over the other.
In the end though, you have to do what makes you happy and what you can afford.

How lucky for you that you have 7 family and friends that are that important to you! Go for it. It's not too much. It's the perfect number for you.

I don't think it is too much, I had 6 BM's. But the bolded parts above are not really something that I thought much about before asking the girls. I wish I would have, but was still happy and thrilled all of them were beside me on my special day.

I've seen as many as 10! So, if you're close to all of them and it's important to have them! GO FOR IT!

Thanks for the advice everyone! I think I am just gonna start with the planning and figure out the bridesmaids in a few months once I have the important stuff done. I may just have the 2 sisters if I feel there is drama going on with friends.
