He proposed on our 8 year anniversary (these are 8 consecutive years). 2 years together in high school, 4 years long distance (while H was at University and I worked), and 2 years living together (I moved when he got his job after graduating) before he proposed.

A little over 2 years of dating when he proposed (We also bought a condo together the same day). We'd been friends for a few years before that.

We had known each other a little less than 3 months when he proposed. Got married 11 months after we met.

Only 8 months, but considering that we're 29 and 27, and I dated half of California before I moved back to Arkansas, I can say with certainty that he's got what I'm looking for in a partner and was never able to find. I knew pretty quickly. Honesty, patience, kindness, openness, a willingness to communicate, being open-minded, stability, humor, trust, mutual support.

BTW, no grand proposal. We mutually decided we wanted to get married next year, so we informed people and started planning. We picked out a ring later.

ETA: Apparently he stalked me at the vet clinic for a few months before he pounced on me and my dog one day and became her primary vet. We talked before a few months before the girls up front got my number and set us up. I don't think that counts as "dating" though.

We dated for about 8 months before we moved in together, and started talking marriage around the same time. Then I got sick (was diagnosed with melanoma), and we put marriage plans on the back burner while we focused on me getting healthy and paying off the isht-ton of medical bills I piled up, and he proposed shortly after our 4 year anniversary. We just got married 2 months shy of our 5 year anniversary (which is 2 weeks from today!)
