suggestions?

Hello!! So originally we wanted to go to Ireland and spend a day or two in England for our honeymoon. We realized it may not happen because we will be buying a house right after our wedding as well.  My fiance wants an all inclusive resort where he doesnt have to worry about having his credit card or money.  Of course there are a million of these around but not what we want.  We aren't beach people at all!!  I have looked around the US and am coming up short on finding all inclusive resorts.  We like San Francisco all the way to Maine.  Any experience with a place in the US that is all inclusive??

Re: suggestions?

  • The only true all inclusives I know of in the US are in Florida, but they are on the beach, most other places will be partially inclusive. You could do some place like Costa Rica where you could stay in the rainforest depending on your budget! I know there are all inclusives there!
  • only a few in FL. some hotels would include some meals but not like caribbean all inclusive.
if you want to stay in the us really what's the big deal about having to carry around a card?
also have you priced out AIs? Some can be expensive and may cost more than Ireland depending on the trips.

  • What about Riviera Maya, in Mexico?  I know it's technically a "beach" location, but I've heard there are lots of others things to do as well, Mayan ruins, etc.  I've never stayed there myself, but I think it might be worth a look for you.

  • What is your budget for the honeymoon? My fiance and I got engaged in Mexico at the Sun Palace and we are now having trouble finding a place to go for a honeymoon because honestly I am scared to go anywhere else and have it be a bad experience when we loved the Sun Palace so much.  My FI of course wants somewhere new and exciting for the honeymoon so who knows.  But the place we went was all inclusive and it was a pretty penny about 3k for everything although I know you can find deals for it.  But the cool thing is since we stayed more than 5 nights we got 1500$ towards excursions/tours/spa etc.  It was awesome! We went to a few ruins, went swimming with the dolphins, both had a massage, and did a few other things like a romantic dinner on the beach (where he proposed) etc.  All of that was included in the 1500 the resort gave us as credits so all we ever paid was for pictures that they took of us on the beach (which the resort credit paid for actually) but we paid for pictures at the dolphin place.. other than that we didnt pay for a thing!
