  • I've had 44.... which surprises me. A bunch were before I was a vegetarian. I have 0 desire to try anyt that I haven't already, and don't really desire eating a few of them that I have had again!

  • Do you know where the list came from?  It seems really hodge-podge.

    I've had 59.

Pineapple and cottage cheese is OK...  I don't know of anyone that would consider it life or pallate altering.

Ditto on the fruit pie.  I'm not sure why Twinkie isn't there instead.  Although, there is Moon Pie.

Duh, I've had sweet potato fries. Not sure why that one got left on there, I make them like once a week lol.

ETA Correction: Sweet potato fries should have been sweetbreads. I haven't had those.

We watch a lot of No Reservations and Bizarre Foods, so I think that has kind of created our desire to be more adventurous in our eating.

And sorry Nebb, I'm one of those that likes haggis but not fruit pies. They're too sweet. I used to love them as a kid, though.

  • I love TastyKake pies, but Hostess' are way TOO sweet.
I only ever ate cottage cheese with fruit, I can't get it when people eat it on a salad or add pepper to it. To me it's not that kind of cheese. It weirds me out a little bit.
  • If I made my own list it would include cheesecurds.  The kind that are so fresh that the still squeak after being deep fried.  OMG.

  • People who have tried 75 or more--what are the ones you haven't tried yet?

I've not had abalone, alligator, bellini, bird's nest soup, black pudding, borscht, crickets, currywurst, dandelion wine, foie gras, frito pie (gag), fugu, haggis, honeycomb, kangaroo, lassi, phaal, prickly pear, shark, snail, som tam, sweetbreads, tom yum and umeboshi.

The only thing on this list I don't ever want to try is frito pie.

I love little pigmy goats. They're so adorable.
  • Deep frying curds just sounds unnecessary to me, why you wouldn't enjoy them as is is just beyond me.
  • I have had 55. Which suprised me because several friends of mine have posted this on FB the highest I have ever seen was like 30. Maybe they are just picky eaters.

I loooovveee cottage cheese. I also love good pineapple ( pretty hard to get in CO) so when I travel to a tropical location I eat a TON.

I plan to suck it  up and try haggis when I go to Scotland this summer.  I avoided it last time, but DH has had and says he likes it.

Do the alligator and kangaroo count if it's in jerky form? Black pudding is delish, shark is good blackened.

What part of Scotland are you going to? I know a couple places there that have great haggis (one is right on the Royal Mile, the other is in St. Andrews).

And they sell haggis-in-a-can at the William Wallace Monument. :)
