Getting in Shape

16 days to go!

First let me say that my weight has been on the lower range of normal and pretty steady, plus or minus about 5 lbs, for the past 3 years.  I am normally perfectly happy with what I weigh, and I am a vegetarian and distance runner, so I have a healthy lifestyle.  Actually I used to post on this board all the time until I moved and started grad school a few months ago.  The problem is that I am currently at the very top of my usual weight range and I only have 16 days until my wedding.  Normally I would not care at all about gaining 5 lbs because it'll probably come off in a month or so.  But since the wedding is right around the corner, I'm afraid this might affect the way my dress fits.  Does anyone have motivational advice for how to get through the next 2.5 weeks and not gain any more, and maybe lose a couple of the extra lbs?    I'm not looking for a quick fix or anything, I just want to make sure my dress zips!

  • Sympathy!  I'm in pretty much the exact same situation (grad school and everything...would like to tighten up just a bit more, AND 16 days to go!).

  • extra crunches and lifting a few  more weights always make me feel tighter!
  • by the way we have the same date and I am actually in the EXACT same position with weight (distance runner, vegitarian, and started a new job two weeks ago...)
    Hang in there, usually when you buy the dress you have a little wiggle room anyway!
  • I would just watch the amount of sodium you eat in the next few weeks and drink lots of water.  Other than that, you probably don't need to do anything else and you'll be okay.  Have a great wedding!
