Cupcake favor idea - what do you think?

I am thinking about having cupcakes instead of wedding cake.  That being said, I had been contemplating ordering, say, 2  or 2 and a half times the cupcakes I would need, and giving these cupcake holders ( http://www.crateandbarrel.com/outlet/kitchen-storage/set-of-2-cupcake-holders/s264946 ) as favors - wrapped in celophane bags, with a tag that says ThankYou and to take one home from the cupcake table.

We have some amazing cupcake places in the Boston area, and it could be a way to have somewhat less expensive cake/favor options!

What do you think?

(PS:  I have had a few of these in our cupboard for years and love taking cupcakes or muffins to work in them!)

Thanks in Advance!!!

  • They are cute, but as a guest, having only one of them, I probably wouldn't use it again.  I say use the  money for something else, but if you have your heart set on it, go for it.
  • I have to say, while your idea is certainly creative, I've got to agree with PP's. I probably would never use it again, and I really like cupcakes. But still, if you can think of a cute way to do it, by all means go for it!

  • For what you pay for those you could have something even nicer. As a guest I don't think I would use the holder ever again. It also seems a little redundant for the wedding cake/favors to be the same thing, kindof like giving someone the same gift twice. My favors are two monogrammed truffles in a little box, it's a sweet but they also get cake. There are also some super cute cookies out there you could get (probably cheaper than the cupcakes). Good luck!

  • I would just get paper boxes for the cupcakes.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
