5. What is your absolute favorite restaurant? whew...umm...I really enjoyed Peter Luger in Brooklyn, but I've only been once so I don't know that I could call it my favorite. It really, really depends on my mood.

Yep, it's these bastards that scare me. I spent most of my summers in Jamaica as a kid and these flying roaches live in most hot places. They are evil incarnate. The crunch they make if you step on them (I'd never do this) is almost as scary to me.

It wasn't until I moved to the Northeast that I realized that not all roaches were enormous and flew like those!

It's not like they just fly around like a fly...they can't fly up...only down...and it's usually only problematic if you're somewhere dark and humid.

What happens is they climb up something and then they'll fly off, but like I said, they can only fly down and they can't aim for anything.

They're highly populated in places that have lots of palm trees.

This makes me kind of sad, imagining poor baby birds being washed from their home. Don't get me wrong, I know how invasive birds can be, but I used to rehab birds so I feel a stronger connection to them.

I don't think I've ever met someone afraid of songbirds. Or any bird, really.

No baby birds in there...I haven't let them complete a nest yet. I wouldn't have washed it down if there was babies in there. But I'm not letting them get to the point of babies either.

This is what their mud nests look like. It's disgusting. Especially when under your breezeway, in your barns, and in the gables of your home.

I don't mind their nests, mainly because I love baby birds (part of my rehab job was to bring home stranded or abandoned babies and feed them overnight). But I still can't take down the nests, I feel guilty about destroying an animal's home.

I've never had a crow swoop at me. We have some swallow-tail kites that are gorgeous, but almost attacked my brother. Now he runs when he was to walk under the tree, but for the most part they leave us alone.
