Stay true to yourself when planning and do what you can afford. The people closest to you (family and friends) will test you, but you can't let them interfere with your plans. In the end it's all about you and your FI becoming husband and wife and really nothing else matters.

    24. Anything you wish you could change about your wedding
I wish I had a smaller guest list, but I wouldn't hear the end of it.

    25. Share something about yourself!!

    Nice learning more about you...

Do you have a recipe for some red velvet cupcakes? I tried a couple a few months back but it was NOT the taste I was going for.

What is your favorite thing to bake?

Usually the bad taste comes from the red food coloring. I use a liquid gel food color because you use less since it's concentrated. It's a bit more expensive than the food coloring you get from wiltons, but it's so much better. Also the mccormick food coloring is water based so when you use that in your cake, you throw off the liquid-to-dry balance of the recipe. So when using that, reduce some of the liquid that is called for in the recipe and add that amount of food coloring to it.

The recipe I use for red velvet cake (cupcakes) is actually from the joy of baking. http://www.joyofbaking.com/RedVelvetCake.html  I use a simpler cream cheese frosting recipes though since I like the taste of cream cheese on this cake.

My favorite thing to bake is chiffon cake. I love chiffon cake. It's so easy and it's a crowd pleaser. Also it's not so dense and heavy like a butter cake.

I look reading your story.  I love your color scheme.  Wow, you have known your FI since the 6th grade - talk about childhood sweethearts.  I wish you guys all the best in love, life and marriage.

I totally agree with the advice on wedding planning, especially the idea that you and FI are a united team who should keep and block out all interference.

BTW, you've got me hungry with all those delightful baking ideas. . . thanks for sharing.

Chan, it's really nice learning a little bit more about you.

I've always liked your peacock theme and cannot wait to see everything come together. I love the strong bong between you and your FI. Six grade... so cute!

I am the worst baker in the entire planet because i can't follow recipes. LOL

It was nice reading about you.

Do you have a plan for starting your own bakery or is that still a seed right now? It sounds like so much fun! Perhaps you can start baking for small events and go from there.

How has your relationship changed during the course of your engagement?

The bakery is still a seed, but it's been planted. I've started to bake for family and friends to get started, but that took a back seat when I started to plan the wedding.  Now that my wedding is approching, I can't wait to get back into it.

During our engagement, I FI and I have learned to be an united front and have become closer because of that. We have changed from the mindset of "mine and yours' to "ours". It's been a process, but it's for the best. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-smile.gif" border="0" alt="Smile" title="Smile" />

Thanks for sharing.  I like to bake as well, but am not great at it.  The chemistry is always off.  Please share your fool proof recipes.  My fiance has an insane sweet tooth.

If it's not too personal, please tell us how your FI proposed. I know the view was amazing and I love proposal stories. No matter how simple or elaborate, they always make my heart melt.

Thanks for the recipe also...I'm going to try it while I'm on vacation next week.

mnm729 - I don't know about "fool proof:", I've created some disasters...lol. But when I find some that I truly like, I'll share them.

eagles - my proposal story is in my bio under "Our Story"

Cincy- I love Chicago...I just wish the Sears Tower didn't get bought out and it's name changed. UGH...the logo is silly looking to me.

Girl I heard about that madness and chose to block it out and act like it wasn't happening.  They actually put A LOGO on the building??  That is so horrible!!!  I used to work two blocks from there and used to go to lunch in there all the time.
