Where to shop for dresses?

So I don't have any idea what I'm doing here... where is a budget place to shop for wedding dresses?  I visited David's Bridal, and I've looked at ads for lots of really expensive-looking boutiques- it makes me nervous not to know prices going into the store, because I don't want to embarrass myself with sticker-shock.  I don't want to spend more than $800.  So I ask you: what local places have prices similar to David's Bridal, other than DB??  (I'm in the Ann Arbor area)

There is a bridal store in Dearborn Heights called Miracle Wedding Village. I believe none of there dresses are over 800 or 900 dollars. They have a website, you cold check out the different designers they carry. Hope that help:)

I don't know where you're located but there is a shop in Lansing called Fantastic Finds, they have a TON of dresses and many many many are around your price point.

Besides David's, how about trying Group USA in Great Lakes Crossing? Or, look for Alfred Angelo retailers, I believe they are carried many places and are affordable.

You can also try B Ella Bridal in Ann Arbor. They have some beautiful dresses there in your price range. Also check out Moni's Bridal in Farmington. GL!

There is Group USA at Great Lakes Crossing. It's the only store in Michigan, and they have a website you can view:

    www.groupusa.com

I'm not familiar with any on the west side. It also helps to look for sample sales at any bridal salon. I got a dress at Allesandra's Bridal in Warren for $230 during a sample sale.

    Good luck.

Also make sure you let whichever store you go to that you have a budget and that you need to stay within it. This will help them if you're unsure of the style of dress you're looking for and they start pulling things for you.

Since most the shops ask for an appointment when you call you can say that your budget maxs at $800 and ask what kind of stock they have in that price range. They can let you know whether its worth making the trip and there's less of a chance you'll feel embarrassed.

FWIW my budget wasn't much higher than yours and we found TONS of dresses so I would imagine a lot of shops carry dresses in multiple price points.

    Have fun dress shopping!

Becker's Bridal in Fowler, MI. It is pretty far from you but they have 3 floors of dresses and alot in the price point that you are looking for...if you go ask for Mona (she listens to what YOU want and doesn't try to pressure you at all). They also have trunk shows for many of the designers where they offer an additional 10 percent off). Oh yeah, and if you write about your experience on their Facebook page they take $20 off your dress (it may not be alot but every little bit helps, right)

Most shops will sell off the rack at a good price.  I found some great deals at Gina's in Milford.  I am a year out so I have been looking around.  Good Luck

I would recommend Arena Bridal in Sterling Heights, it's off Van Dyke near 23-24 mile.  They have tons of selection with a good price range, and you can buy off the rack for a discount.  I found my dress there for way less than $800 but they have a huge range.

I also went to Demitrios Bridal in Troy, and when I walked in they told me that their dresses all started at $1000, but I found one in there for $800 and it was almost the one.  They also have a huge sample selection!

    Good Luck!
