Shoe Suggestions for Lace Off-White Wedding Dress - Photos Added

I bought a lace off-white/cream/ivory (don't remember) beautiful all-lace wedding dress and am now looking to purchase a pair of heels to go with it. I will be wearing a darker cream sash around my waist that ties in a bow and has a little silvery/glittery pin in the middle of the bow as an accent. The dress has a slit in the front so my shoes will be very visible as opposed to other dresses. What recommendations for shoes do you guys have? I found a beautiful pair that is silver and glittery that I love and could potentially tie into the dress via the silver/glittery accent, but am afraid that it will be too much for such an elegant and detailed dress.

  • You could buy two pairs of shoes and flashy ones could be for the reception. Do you have a piece of the fabric you could take with you to a store to match the shoes?
  • Post a picture of the dress?  hard to help without knowing what it looks like!

Thanks for the feedback. I have attached a photo of the shoes I like and ultimately dream will match my dress. I have also attached a photo of the dress in hopes that someone can recommend a better fit for a shoe if the one I like does not go with it.

  • I think getting shoes to match the sash would work best.  I love the shoes you have picked out, but since your dress is lace, the glitter on the shoes, may catch on the dress.  Maybe a satin shoe?
  • I would go with something that just blends with your leg - either a nude or even the same color as yoru sash.  Also since there is a lot happening on the dress (lace, sash, split front), I would pick a shoe that is simple and will elongate your leg (i.e. no ankle strap).

Something like this would be bautiful with that dress in my opinion.
  • I think your best bet is to get shoes to match the sash, like PP suggested.  I also have a lace dress and have found that sparkly things catch on it quite easily, so I'd avoid glittery shoes for that reason.  I think shoes the same color as your sash would look really cute and kind of tie the whole thing together.  You could either take the sash with you and try to match it, or just get a pair of white satin shoes and have them dyed to match.  I think a nice high heel with a peep toe would look adorable (though this is generally the style I am partial to myself, so maybe I'm biased!).  Good luck - I haven't even started the shoe hunt yet because I love shoes so much that I fear I'll just want to buy them all!  :)
  • Thanks!! I agree with all of your recommendations. I think I just really liked the shoes and was hoping that I could get away with saying they were for the wedding...I am going to get a pair of shoes to match with the sash that are a simple heel design. I agree that the ankle strap would not do much for elongating my legs so thank you for that! I had not really considered that aspect of the shoe style.
