    Shelby & Andrew

    Wedding Date?
    August 27, 2011

    How old are you? Your FI?
    Me - 29 (and 8 mths)
    FI - 24 (and 6 mths)

    Occupations and dream occupations of the couple?
    Me - International stuff and herding dog trainer/handler
    FI - Currently a swing tech (mechanic) but becoming an EMT in Sept.

    How long have you been dating?
    Since September 2008

    Where did the you meet?
    OKCupid.com - I sent a very sarcastic note to him in regards to one of his photos titled, "me before I laid my bike down."  Me, also being a motorcycle person, sent a note that said, "aren't you supposed to keep those things upright? ;) " My FI will say, "at first I thought, what a *****.  Then I thought, okay, smart-arse....here we go..."

    What was your first impression of your FI?
    He was nervous, but a Sam Adams Oktoberfest and homemade chocolate chip cookies totally won him over :)

    Most exciting thing about wedding planning so far?
    How many wedding coordinators our wedding venue can go through from booking to wedding.  I think I need to start taking bets.

    Any wedding-related challenges yet?

    I do have my dress :)






    Any favorite vendors yet?
    Our DJ - To The Rescue Entertainment (Atlanta.)  They are an entertainment/events planning couple that are also directors and founders of an animal rescue.  A portion of their fee goes to their rescue work (and yes, they're licensed non-profit.)

    Colors or theme?
    Black and Red - no real theme.  The bridesmaids' dresses were inspiration...





    What are your top three wedding-related priorities?
    PAYING THE WEDDING BILLS

    Any children yet or furbabies?
    Two furbabies with an addition coming soon:

    German Shepherd: Herding Dog and Goofball
    Pit Bull: Rescue Diva

    Kids at wedding?
    Four kids :) They're more like "miniature....they're.....teacup humans."

    Where are you honeymooning?
    We're taking ourselves and our dogs up to a cabin in the mountains for week to do some whitewater rafting, kayaking, and hiking :)

    Favorite book?
    The Hot Zone: A Terrifying True Story by Richard Preston

    Favorite movie?
    Father of the Bride :) (or Steel Magnolias.....I can quote that...)

    Favorite tv show?
    Swamp Brothers - cracks me up!

    Favorite wedding dress designer?
    Tomasina (though could never afford their gowns)

    What is something you wish you could have at the wedding but don't?
    My Nan and Pop - they passed away in 2008 and 2007.

    Swamp Brothers is AWESOME! Troy cracks me the hell up. And ROFL at spirit fingers and Jazz hands! Funny stuff.

    "Swamp Brothers" isn't the one with Troy, etc. That's "Swamp People."  "Swamp Brothers" is the show with the South Florida country brother and the newly-transplanted NYC bartending brother :)
