How much time are you taking off from work for your wedding?

I know it may be a little different since many of you are destination brides, but how much time did you take off before and after the wedding?  I just started a new job this year and don't have a lot of vacation time.  I was planning on taking off a week before the wedding to do last-minute stuff.  I'm getting married on Saturday and will be back to work on Monday.  I'm kind of bummed that we won't have a honeymoon, and it seems so anti-climactic  to go back to work so soon.  We'll probably just do an "anniversary trip" the following year.  Just wondering what you ladies are doing...

Luckily my agency allows us flexible time off and quick accrual of PTO. We'll be leaving for Maui six days prior to the wedding, which is two days before most of our family is expected there. During those two days we're going to be on cruise control getting everything prepared so we can enjoy our family time. We'll be leaving for a six day honeymoon the morning after our wedding. In total, I'll be gone from work (and school) for two full weeks! Can't wait. . .!

I will be taking pretty much the whole month of May off.
We are entitled to 4 weeks annual leave a year.
Wanted to arrive in Hawaii a week before the wedding, then we will be off to LA, Miami, NY, San Fran then finishing off in Maui before flying back to Sydney. Definatley a whirl wind trip.

I've worked for my employer for 8 years, so I have lots of leave.  Which means I'm taking off at least 2 weeks, probably 2 1/2 total.

Our wedding is on a Friday.  We're flying to Maui the Monday before, so we can get settled in before our WP shows up on Wed., and everyone else on Thurs.  Then we'll do a week in Kauai starting a few days after the wedding.

But if it was local, I'd at least want a couple days beforehand off.

    We live here in HI:
We took a total of 6 days off plus the Thanksgiving holiday (Thurs/Fri). My vacation started the Wed. before our Sat wedding so I had some time to spend with family, do my bachelorette party and wrap up last minute details. The Sunday and Monday after the wedding, we spent catching up on all the sleep we missed! Then it was back to being busy bees with Thanksgiving.
We didn't take a honeymoon, because we didn't have enough vacation time saved up, so we plan on taking it in a couple of months.
I agree, it was a little anti-climatic coming back to work without really spending some alone time together, but it was nice to be with our families spend time as one big ohana! Plus we have our honeymoon trip to look forward too! Now if we could only figure out when to schedule it...

I am taking 3 weeks off total... Never been gone that long.  We are getting married on a Sunday and we'll arrive in Hawaii on the Tuesday before.  We will fly out for our honeymoon to Australia on the Tuesday after the wedding and spend 2 weeks there.  So excited, but a little anxious to be away from home for so long!

I took 3 weeks off for my wedding. I spent almost 2 weeks on The Big Island and one week in Kauai.

Oh how I wish I was in Hawaii right now.

I also live here, so luckily I don't have to arrange flights.  We also have a WC who had me turn in everything early (seating, sign in sheets, etc).

My wedding is on a Saturday, so I am taking the Thursday off before and will be off until the following Wednesday.  Luckily I teach, so I get the Furlough Fridays and then the Christmas break until Jan - but I am only taking off 5 days.  We aren't taking our honeymoon until March though.

Oh how I would love to take 3 weeks off!  I'm jealous!  I guess depending on how much needs to be done pre-wedding (I don't have a coordinator), I might go Wed-Tues instead of just taking of the Mon-Fri before.  Then we'll at least have a couple days to recoup and enjoy :)

I've got the good and the bad.......Luckily I work for FI's company so I can do what I want for the most part.  We're getting married the 10th and flying out on the 6th with MOH and BM and their families.  The rest of the guests are coming around the 8th.  We're staying until the 16th.  Unfortunately owning your own company means we'll be working in some fashion most everyday we're there but I'm hoping just mostly a few phone calls here and there.

Two weeks. I can't wait. We're going to get there the week before the wedding and stay a week after.

I'm taking an extra 3 days when we return to the east coast.  Need to ease my way back to work.  I also have the option of working from home if needed.

i have no idea yet! i graduate in March and move back to Hawai'i in April... then I have to find a "real" job.. so I have no idea if I will even get any vacation time! The wedding is in October, so I may just find a so-so job, demand time off for the wedding/honeymoon, and if they don't give it to me, i'll just quit! I guess we'll see what happens!
