Guys I am so glad it's Friday. I just had to jump through some stupid hoops to get a stupid interview this morning and it's the third time this week it has happened - an organization will send out a press release about something, and when I call the contact, the contact is out of the fucking office for the week. Hell, I tried to contact someone earlier this week and got an auto-email reply that they were going to be away on such and such days in January. Yeah, two months ago.
So this morning when it happened I just got pissed and was like, "Well, if he is not in, could you please direct me to someone else who could talk to me about this" and they transferred me to some horribly boring, deer in the headlights woman who basically wasted my time.
Blue, my betas were on the high level from the beginning, but they were certain at my first ultrasound that it was only one baby. Then, at my last appointment, the doctor pulled out the doppler and wasn't sure if she was hearing one heartbeat and the placenta or two heartbeats. My placenta is anterior which can apparently throw things off. Plus, I'm measuring about two weeks bigger than I should be. The doctor offered me another ultrasound, but I've decided to just wait for my anatomy scan at 19 weeks to see what's in there. I hear it's not that uncommon for people to actually discover twins at the 20 week mark, so I'm not too worried right now.
Well, no, that's a lie. I'm worried for selfish reasons, but if there are two in there...it's not something I can control, so I'm just going to go with it.
Sept, I actually know two women that had twins that didn't get it confirmed until 19 weeks and 23 weeks. I'm in the process of a heavy investigation about twins lol.
My grandmas sisters were twins, my grandma had twins, one of those twins had twins, another two aunts have twins. We're reproduction-happy in my family.
No kidding. Hence, the "hello, singular baby!" greeting every morning. Twins would be great for a lot of people, but I'd be really, really happy with just one.
It's selfish - I don't have any family closer than an hour away and very few friends in the city who I'd feel comfortable calling on if I needed a hand with something. H would get paternity leave, sure, but there's still just the two of us out here. I know people manage it all the time, and we'd manage it too, but I think I'd prefer a singleton for now...

Sept, I'm guessing they're fraternal twins? Yeah, that shiit follows female family lines. Our friends that had the triplets had fraternal twins in her family. I think she found out at 6 or 7 weeks though. She's been assured that this time there's only one!
Also, you'll have me in the city! (not that I have any idea what I'm doing.....)
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
I didn't know you've done the IVF Blue, sending tons of good thoughts and wishes your way.
DMill, if it is twins, will you still have room for all of the doorstep babies heading your way?
Quiet weekend for me, hanging out with my nieces tomorrow, errands and chores on Sunday. I have cream cheese, chocolate and Chambord in the fridge so I'm thinking I'll make a truffle cheesecake.

Raynes, yep - they're all fraternal except one set. Scary thought.
And true, when baby comes and I'm in a panic, I'll just call and ask wtf to do. By that time, your baby will have already gone through whatever mine is going through.
Re: TGIF
I keep greeting my belly with "Hello, singular baby!" but I don't know if it's working.

I keep forgetting to ask my doc if I'll have any more u/s's. My feeling is no on that one.
