Event insurance?

My brain's fried.  Help a Knottie out.  What exactly does event insurance for the wedding cover?  Should we also get it for the RD we're hosting at the venue a couple days prior?  TIA!

From what I read and done research about wedding insurance, it covers wedding site, weather, job/military issues, like if you or your FI got sick or injured, vendors not showing up, etc.

Things like engagement rings, cold feet, and jewerly on clothing, etc. is not covered. You should talk to a insurance agent to make sure if you really want it. Hope that answers your question.

i think what koolkay is talking about is wedding insurance... which i think is different than event insurance.

we bought event insurance for our wedding, and its basically a liability policy, so if something happens on the property, the owners of the property arent liable, and you (or the insurance policy) are.

i think our policy cost something like $50... pretty cheap. I dont think you would need it for the RD though, since i'm assuming that event is much smaller than the actual wedding.

That sounds more like what I figured it was, but I wasn't sure.  Glad to hear it's not a ton of money!  Just sent an email to my insurance agent so we'll see what amounts and info I get from him.  Thanks!

Our event insurance actually covers the rehearsal dinner too (i think it said it covered events within two days of the event that you actually want covered)
