Hair Dresser Etiquette

My hair dresser of 4 years offered to do my hair for free the day of our wedding as a gift to me. He is also doing my 3 bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law and charging them full price.

Our venue is 2 hours away from where we live so he has to travel and get a hotel room for 2 nights.

We have a room block, so he will need to call the hotel himself and get a room, but I don't know how to approach this subject.

Should I offer to pay for at least one of his nights in the hotel? I am not sure how to go about this since he is doing me a favor and isn't charging me the normal price for his services!

Any advice offered would be much appreciated! :)

  • Did he agree with the understanding that your wedding is 2 hours away and that you expect him to travel to you? If so then I would just mention that you have rooms blocked off and give him the info. If not, no would be a good time to bring it up. He may also not want to stay the night and just travel out early and leave late.

If you did want to offer to pay as a gift to him, I think he would really appreciate that and you could just mention it to him when you give him the room info.

  • I would just explain that you have some rooms blocked off and give him the info. That is very generous and sweet he is doing that for you.
