Totally. And I like that this is how it goes when people get headhunted, too. I'm a free-market capitalist at heart, maybe?

    Maybe not.

I've always remembered it as "then" is for time and "than" is for everything else. "I'd rather have sex, then cuddle" = I'd rather have sex first. We will cuddle when we are through, whiner. "I'd rather have sex than cuddle" = Gods, you're needy. I'm kicking you out as soon as we're through with this romp.

Nah, it's not so bad. My impression is that many people don't. Hell, I started this thread so that I didn't have to do the research on my own; I just wanted other people to tell me shet about companies that I didn't already know.
  • I see everyone else beat me to it while I was crafting my examples.

  • Good job. You get some hippie points back.
  • I boycott Direct TV because they are a bunch of arseholes that charged my credit card (without my permission) after H cancelled them and then charged more for movies that they said we ordered 3 years prior. Aside from that, their service sucked.

  • Is there a real hippie point calculator somewhere on the internet. Id like to see how we all turned out.
  • I boycotted PacBell after getting really bad customer service from them.  I've used just my cellphone and sometimes a VOIP line since then.
  • I'll ditto the Chik-fil-A boycott, and I don't donate to Salvation Army (gay rights stuff).  I also try to avoid spending money at Macy's because I think they're a bunch of assholes.

Well. My thirty second search did not produce a calculator for you, but I did find a book about how hippies saved physics. So that's probably pretty interesting.
  • I will 100th the anti-walmart sentiment.  Other than that, I don't really have any companies I actively boycott.  Well, I am a vegetarian so I guess I technically am boycotting meat.

  • Seriously?! there are like 8000 quizes telling you which sex and the city character you are, but not one to tell you how much of a hippie you are?! What a world we live in..
  • I used to boycott Tommy Hilfiger.  Now I just don't buy his clothing because I think it's ugly.

I'm sure everyone has moved on from this, and I'm not totally through the thread yet, but I boycott First Watch. At least the one near my job, they are very anti-gay. I was told by someone who used to work there that said that First Watch gets a lot of backing from very anti-gay groups. I kinda miss the French Toast, but I cannot support them.

ETA: Oh, and Starbucks. Just because we have so many great local places. And the best story ever:

Starbucks moved a storefront 40 feet from a local coffee place in the kind of trendy area I live in. The people from Starbucks went into the local place and basically said "Look, you can either sell out to us, or we will put you out of business." The local place said, "You just try that." Six months later, the Starbucks was gone, and the local place still has lines to the back of the store. It was one nice big Eff you to Starbucks. The people in this area are very "small business people".
