Wedding flower vent.

Hi ladies.! I am kind of frantic right now because in my wedding I want to include poppys (orange, yellow, white, and red). I have contacted many florist and no one seems to have them. The poppy flower is very close and dear to my heart and I would love to have them at my wedding. Does anyone know of anybody who has poppy flowers?? You would be a lifesaver. Thanks in advance.

P.S. I was considering just buying the seeds and planting them myself, but I do not have a green thumb. I am horrible at planting.

  • When is your wedding? Have you consider perhaps silk poppies?

  • Try Thibodeaux's flowers - Paul Norman is fantastic and if you want poppies, he will try his best to get them for you if it's possible.
  • Poppies only have a short season from February to May and are very temperamental.  Maybe the florist just can't get them for your wedding.  When are you getting married?
  • I have a similar problem.  I love peonies but they just aren't available in late fall.  Sucks.  But maybe you can try silk flowers like a pp suggested.

<div>Just FYI...my florist (Meade Wenzel) said florists can group carnations together to create the same effect as a peony.  Not sure if that's something you'd opt for, but it's a thought!</div>
  • You may also want to consider garden or cabbage roses.  They have a very similar full look.

  • What part of your wedding did you want the poppies for? If you are okay with just bridal bouquets or smaller things, you could check out this shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/PetalByPetal?ref=seller_info

They make clay flowers/bouquets/etc. They actually look pretty realistic but may not be appropriate for reception displays; (I guess it depends on how much you're spending). Mayb you could order a few individual flowers.

    :)

Thanks.  Meade will be doing my flowers as well, and she's going to be using garden roses :)
