Northshore reception venues

My FI and I recently got engaged and are now in the process of looking for a reception venue on the northshore. We are looking for venues that are more budget friendly. Most likely we are having a summer (July 2012) wedding, so an indoor venue would be preferable. The church we are looking at using is in Covington, so anywhere around Covington/Mandeville/Slidell would work the best.

Does anyone have any recommendations of venues that you have been to or are using in this area? TIA

We attended a reception at The Fleur De Lis Center and it was beautiful. The food was great, and the altmosphere was really fun.

I'm getting married at the Fleur de Lis Event Center in Mandeville. It is a beautiful place and I can't wait til June. They have a couple of indoor rooms but they also have a small outdoor space for a ceremony.

Benedict's is a nice spot in Mandeville. There's also Vintage Court in Covington, the Maritime Museum in Madisonville, Abita Quail Farm in Abita Springs...
    I'll keep thinking.

We are having our reception at Palmettos on the Bayou in Slidell.  Its got a gorgeous back deck with a tent set up or you can have the whole restaurant for receptions and is right on the Bayou.I also looked at Patton's because I've heard the food is amazing. The house is really really beautiful.  It books super fast thou.

If you're looking for a very affordable place, the Maritime Museum in Madisonville is great. They only provide the space, though, so you'd have to get a separate caterer, etc. They have outdoor and indoor areas.

Fleur de lis is gross! It's a rip off of the French quarter! I'm getting married at the Lake House. Beautiful authentic old building on the gorgeous lake front in mandeville. Food is fabulous!
