Hello ladies! It's my last day in the office, so they let me come in at 10 instead of 0630. We're having a pizza luncheon with everyone in the office and it should be pretty good. Tonight I'm going to go see Jo Koy at the Improv, and then tomorrow I'm going to the tattoo shop to finish up my half sleeve. Congrats DJ! WARNING - SAD DUCK STORY: My parents used to get us baby ducks and chicks every Easter, since we lived on a farm, they knew we could take care of them once they grew up. I had a baby duck that I named Squeaker because when he became an adult duck, he couldn't quack, he kept squeaking like he was a baby duck still. Well, one winter, we had a snap freeze overnight, and he must've been crossing the road when the temperature dropped and got his little duck feet frozen to the pavement. A car struck him, so when I cam out to catch the bus to school, there were all of these white feathers everywhere and two duck feet sticking up out of the ice. I asked my mom to stop getting me ducks for Easter after that.

That is really sad.

• I just realized it is my baby sisters first anniversary today. It is still weird to me that they're married.

I KNOW. And she's one of the slowest producers. So yeah, don't freaking tell me to go tell someone how much I appreciate them. There was just another follow up email making sure we all said our farewells.

And who made the newer girl the staff cheerleader? Weird, and I'm sorry I'd go out of my way NOT to say farewell.

The geese next to our house had babies a month or so back, I would almost wreck my car trying to look at the little fuzzy things. So cute!

That is so messed up to me. It's annoying when parents try and tell you what to do. It's just plain condescending when someone who isn't your parent does it.
• Ooh. CW brought treats to celebrate another CW's birthday. Homemade cinnamon rolls. They are sooooo good.

Not too long ago I was dropping off some paper work for a client and was stalled by a family of geese hanging out in the road. While I was stopped I took a picture. You can see one in the road on the right but they all were starting to head for the median.

• Oh, and funny story. Yesterday a woman was sitting with me (started 2 weeks ago, but was having computer issues so she was just shadowing for a bit). As I'm typing she asks me how I did something, basically cut out a line so quickly.

I didn't understand what she was asking so I said to point it out the next time I did it. So she did, and she was like, "How did you get those words to disappear and the sentence to go backwards?"

Guys. I was pressing the "delete" key. "Oh! Good idea," she says. Uh...ok.
• omg, Sesh. And she's working on websites? Next she'll be asking you where the 'any' key is (as in 'press any key to continue').

• Sesh, that's worse that the professor I had who didn't understand how to use the back button in a browser. She spent 30 minutes on the first day of class showing us how to find her textbooks on the publisher's website. For each book (all by her so same author) she'd search by author, click on the book, then click search for author again. She then said that if we needed any computer help she'd be glad to assist us.
At least she didn't present off of transparencies, like a group of my classmates did last semester though. Who in college today can't make a simple powerpoint?

hahahah I can just picture it.

I don't fault the older generation for not knowing how to use computers.. but sheesh, don't apply for a job that requires basic computer skills without knowing how they work.
• Also, congrats DJ!! I'm also going off assumptions here... Stupid mobile. Les, that's a good idea. I have a few phone calls to make this afternoon.
Oh so I was filling out some paperwork for the other insurance company and you have to give a date for authorization of the papers. Like how long they're good for. I decided on six months, which would be December 15th. So for shchitts and giggles I put December 21, 2012. Bahahaha.

• Brandi FTW!

I read somewhere (not sure how true it is) that when accounting for leap years (which didn't exist till Caesar's time), the December 21, 2012 as the Mayans saw it, actually happened last summer I think. Whoops!
• Star, that's my mom, ha.

I went to a writer's conference earlier this year and one author was doing a workshop on converting Word docs to e-book formats. I was excited for it, until I realized this woman had no idea what she was doing. It was awful, and so awkward. She couldn't figure out how to do the "find and replace" in Word, couldn't find the backspace button, couldn't operate the Internet, said totally inaccurate things about setting up Kindle accounts.

Everyone in there was visibly frustrated.
• Chels- I think I've read that too.
Congrats, DJ!!! Ibarr - can your doctor give you a one-month sample package? My daughter was going to be a couple days short of getting her refill and they just gave her one package. Not much going on here, other than hoping to get out of here at 4. No more sad duck stories, please. I love ducks. AATB - I heard your favorite song today and thought of you. We all know how you love Butterfly Kisses .

• Nitpicky thing but I'm pretty sure Snooki announced her pregnancy last December or January so her due date can't be December 21. Unless she's planning on being pregnant longer than Jessica Simpson.

Morning all. Congrats DJ!

I'm exhausted. We started rehearsals this week for an upcoming production, and will be in rehearsal 6 days a week for the next 6 weeks. I love it, but by the end of the first week I just want to sleep for a day.

Congratulations DJ!! Happy Fathers day to Mr. DJ!

I have puffy eyes this morning because I started reading The Art of Racing in the Rain last night. I did the ugly cry.

Congratulations DJ! What a perfect weekend to announce (for your H).

Matty, I sobbed at that book too - and it was during one of the first times staying with H's family back in Nebraska. Not embarrassing at all. But, I left the book for the aunt and she soon understood.

Matt thought I was crazy at first, then I had him read a page and he understood.
We lost our last golden, Tara, very suddenly about 2.5 years ago and I still cry when I think about it.

FI grew up in a town known for it's Wild Safari park. I think it was a Zebra (or camel) that got out one time and was walking the streets interrupting traffic.
Yay! Congrats DJ! I'm excited since one of H's projects has a deadline of today. He's been working like a crazy man the last two weeks. He worked 16 hours yesterday and his brain is totally fried. He asked me what I wanted to do for my birthday next week. I had to remind him what month my birthday is in. And then had to remind him what month it actually is right now.
Posted by kodakitty
Haha I know the feeling! I never know what day it is on a good day.

But yay for birthday plans, and getting your H back!

BTW I love your siggy. I could use a couple of those right now.
