Hiring a graphic designer?

Did anyone hire a graphic designer to design your invites, menu, program, etc? And if so how much did it cost?

I didn't, but my sister who is going to school for graphic design is helping me...I could ask her if she is interested in doing more and then give you her contact info if you're interested...

I downloaded the free trial of Adobe Creative Suite 4 and designed my save the dates and invites all in the 30 day period based on some stuff I liked online. Another option.

Yup! I got Photoshop as well and did my photobook, and photosharing cards on it so far. My bro made our STDs using photoshop (before I had gotten it). If you've got the time, its worth it to DIY with photoshop if you can! It is a little confusing at first, but I looked online at lots of tutorials to help me learn how to do it quick!

For my invites (pre-photoshop), I used powerpoint and word.

A friend of ours is a Designer in FLA.  He designed our skyline. (PIB)

But like PP said, you can do a lot on your own with different programs.  Photoshop is good for that.  FI is using Publisher to make wedding brochures for the OOT guests.

I spent many hours on trying to design my invites and programs, but decided that all my results just looked a little too home-made.

I found someone on etsy that designed the invite, reception card, and "other activites" insert and sent me the digital files for $40! Totally worth it if you ask me.

Ellaspaper is the etsy store i used, but if you search you can find lots more.  Saved me lots of stress.

I used a grapic designer to do my Save the Dates and they were adorable.
    kirstenmortensen@gmail.com  is her email address.

Also, there are awesome invitation companies under local resources on The Knot.  Some actually are companies run by local graphic designers.  I'd shop around on there too!  Link below.
