I just heard that Old Navy is having a $1 flip flop sale on 5/22. But you can only buy 5 pairs per person so bring some friends. HTH

My sister did one at her wedding...  We just used a normal basket, and got some cute ribbon to link the flip flips together (so people weren't ripping off tags at the wedding).  Also, we wrote the sizes on the bottom in permanent marker.

In fact, there were a few leftover pairs in my size and I am wearing them today, lol.

Thanks Julie! It's actually for my sister's wedding. we're both engaged, but she's getting married this summer. Fi and i have not planned a date for ourselves yet though. So i lurk/post on here for her (for now!)

Danielle, a flip flop basket is a basket of flip flops in all sizes at your reception. after dancing for a while in heels your feet usually are hurting pretty bad! so i saw a few girls on here post about them. You just buy a bunch of sizes and put them in a basket at your hall so they can take them to be a little more comfy!

    such a cute idea!

We got our flip flops at Old Navy (2 for $5 and a 30% off coupon) and at the time they were hanging from the display by a little plastic hanger and then they were strung together with a tag.  We removed the tag – like jholbel said, you don’t want people to have to rip them off on the dance floor.  But we left the hanger on and attached the size to it.  Maybe you can see from my picture…..

We also had a sign hanging from the handle of the basket that said “Dancin’ Shoes” in big letters and “Please Help Yourself” in smaller letters.

We had about 150 people at our wedding and bought 25 pair of women’s flip flops.  EVERY ONE got used.  I probably would have bought 35 if I had to do over again.

I am thinking about doing this too, but where do you put the basket?

Would I just set it in the corner of the dance floor? On a table?

I think my sister bought 16 pairs of womens and 4 pairs of men flip flips.  There were about 2 pairs left at the end of the night.  And yes, she just put them on the corner of the dance floor -- she thought about putting a little poem or sign on them, but at the end of the day, she wasn't that creative.  But people figured out what they were for...

People seemed to love them.  I am debating doing them for our wedding...

Um, 3 did.  :-)  There was one pair left...  I think it was the groomsmen who used them...uncomfortable in their rented shoes.

I just saw on dollartree.com they have a variety pack for $48 for 48 pairs, free shipping if you pick up at your local store.
