Snarky Brides

Hey?

So I'm home alone for most of the night again, but it's because N went out to celebrate. He just got a promotion at work! So I'm okay with missing him three nights this week :P

What's up with you? What's for dinner? I don't want to cook anything, but I need some fuel so I can keep up with my workout tonight. Blegh.

Re: Hey?

  • I have never had cinnamon ice cream.

We had BBQ chicken breasts, grilled corn on the cob and some baked beans. Good summer meal. Watching Wheel of Fortune and then hitting the gym with FI.

I have been so tired this week. And hungry. Ugh.

  • I think I might make some enchiladas with the leftover taco meat from last night. This way, I can serve the rest for dinner tomorrow night.

I've been really tires this week, too. I think it's the weather.
  • One of the booths at the state fair does diced caramel apples, and it's served with cinnamon ice cream. nom nom.

Hi! I'm here. putzing because I don't want to pack.
  • I'm here too!  At work waiting to have some work to do.

Poor H.  Home all alone with the kids. (haha.)
Holy Crap. We survived the first year!

  • I'm here. :)

Dinner was parmesan crusted pork chops with pan gravy, garlicky green beans and sweet potato waffle fries. H worked late and he was so thrilled that dinner was ready for him to eat when he got home. Come to think of it, that was the first dinner I've cooked for us since he got home a couple weeks ago.

Watching reruns of Miami Ink and LA Ink, I'm itching for a new tattoo. I know exactly what I want to get, I'm just too poor to get it lol.

  • I may have just eaten a giant piece of GF chocolate cake my H brought home with him from work..  as dinner is cooking.  it's good to be an adult  ;)

The chicken is roasted and these are in the oven right now;  http://pinterest.com/pin/104849497544889446/

After dinner we're heading out to the driving range to un-suck my game a bit so I can sstop faking it and not embarrass my husband out on the link this summer.
  • Edie- just 'home' to WI for the weekend. It's my brother's confirmation. I don't think I've been home since Christmas, which is really weird.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Hey? : me too.  But I just booked our honeymoon using Costco travel and saved a bundle. <strong> 5 nights at the Venetian</strong>, airfare and rental car for 5 days and it was less than $1900.00.  Score!  plus there are a bunch of extras they throw in for Costco members like discounts on food, free gondola rides, etc.  I can't wait.

I fucking LOVE that hotel! I could get lost in there for days. The restaurants and shopping there are amazing, and I so enjoyed seeing Phantom of the Opera there as well. Plus, it's just a hop, skip and jump on over to Caesar's where there's a Betty Page store that I spent a fortune at last summer.

  • Hi guys! I'm here. We have some huge storms coming through right now.

Congrats to your husband Nates! That's exciting!

  • That looks delicious, Anna.

Feel better, DJ. I've been battling something lately and I just want to feel better already.
  • Edie is the process of doing homemade ice cream hard? I'd be interested in getting a machine when we get a kitchen that we can both fit into.

FI heard back from the our HM hotel today..we are all set. I am so excited now.

Anna--do you golf-golf or are you just on the driving range so far? My FI is a really good golfer and I'm trying to work on my skills also.

  • Mehg, what's your new tattoo going to be? I want to get mine in July, if I can afford it.

I'm trying to motivate myself to go take a shower. I've been reading all day, just finished City of Lost Souls and now I'm starting Divergent. H is working, trying to finish up a yard.

Dinner will probably be tuna ranch casserole, if I can get away from reading long enough to cook.

  • Thanks, Hike! It's his first big promo there.

That's a great deal, Dot. I was so stressed researching/booking our HM and I'm so glad it's done. I just feel so pressured to find the BEST deal that I get overwhelmed.  We wanted to go to Vegas over my spring break, but with mom getting sick it didn't work. I think we might go for our one year anniversary.

  • I want to get a half sleeve of Belle from Beauty and the Beast, as a pinup. She's going to be wearing the gold dress, but it's going to be hiked up to show her legs, and she'll be picking up a stack of books with Chip the teacup on top and a rose. Little stars around it, kind of like the old sailor pinup tattoos. On the inside of my arm, I want a cupcake with pink frosting and multicolored sprinkles, and Cupcakes Taste Like Violence in script around it and two crossed switchblades below it. They're not everyone's cup of tea, but I can picture them in my head and they look bitchin'. I've wanted a pinup and a cupcake (separate) for a long time, and these suit me so well.

I have five tattoos (if you count the ladybugs on my back separately. I do, since I got them about a year apart).

I have a pink fairy tramp stamp (got it when I was 18, haha). My mom and sister both have similar tattoos, except my mom's is on her ankle:

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/12/15/dcd16352-ce2d-4f2e-8f27-78c30aa94cf1.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"> <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/12/15/dcd16352-ce2d-4f2e-8f27-78c30aa94cf1.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>
The fairy looks kinda like me, and has ballet slippers since I used to dance. I need to get it re-inked, it's starting to fade a little and I want the pink to pop more. There is a nickle-sized ladybug on either side of the fairy. I plan to incorporate these all into a back piece, I just need to decide on what I want.

Left foot, Elvish script from Lord of the Rings, translates to "nine":
    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/2/3/1255156d-8164-4b3b-9339-377a6af8873b.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"> <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/2/3/1255156d-8164-4b3b-9339-377a6af8873b.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>

Right foot, Elvish script from LOTR again, translates to "Farewell":
    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/12/8/1c929fc2-5617-4897-b87c-211aeb048da4.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"> <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/12/8/1c929fc2-5617-4897-b87c-211aeb048da4.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>

  • ha. We weren't raised Jewish or anything, and neither was my mom.  My grandma was raised very orthodox Jewish as a kid.  But now she just pretends to be Jewish when she wants to remind us that she 'shouldn't be celebrating Christmas.' *eyeroll* haha

We did kind of note the irony of a Hebrew tattoo.
  • Mehg- How come 9?

  • I'll give pics of mine!

Lower Back (7-pointed star of Seshat, Egypian goddess of scroll-keeping/writing, tribal flame, and bear paws, a native American symbol for good omens):

Upper Back (my Cherokee name, "Usti Kamama", with a bird silhouette, as the goose is my totem and to represent the time I spent rehabbing birds, which is really meaningful to me):

  • I always wondered what Seshat meant

<div>i golf but suck at it.  My previous experiences were all in college, involved heavy drinking, and we called it extreme golf since we sprinted between holes racing the cart.  So obviously, actually honing my skills wasn't a primary concern.</div>

There were nine members of the Fellowship of the Ring. It reminds me of my family and my friends and how rich they make my life. I got it on my foot because my feet have led me so far, through dance and running and constantly being barefoot. That's also why I got the other one on my right foot. "Farewell" in Elvish is "Namarie" (nah-mar-eeay), which is a beautiful poem/song about the Elves leaving Middle Earth for the undying lands. I'd love to get a couple lines from it tattooed somewhere else, too.

I always think phrases and words look hot on people, I just don't think it would look right/good on me. I've always wanted the word imagine because my dad is a huge Beatles fan and would play imagine for me all the time. I just don't know where.
