Chateau Cocomar

Ladies,

Anyone had any experience with them?  I know that actual weddings will begin in just a few weeks.  I'm just curious because communication seems a little less than stellar.  Anyone having their wedding there?

Re: Chateau Cocomar

  • <div>I'm having my wedding somewhere else, but my cousin is looking at that place for her wedding next fall. She loves the place, but she has the same complaint. They don't seem very organized. She's been trying to get a quote from them for awhile. She's done some of the calculations herself, and she said it's very pricey. However, she wants to see the numbers from them, which makes sense, and it seems like pulling teeth. I haven't seen the place myself, but it looks gorgeous from the few pics on their site. Personally, i think it's a huge risk to take even if it is a beautiful venue. They might get their act together by next year, but again they might not...</div><div>

    We got married 11/3/12!!

  • I did not have great communications with them either. I'm planning from out of state and clearly said "Hi, I'd like to schedule a visit any time between (THESE DATES)" and of course the response was all offers for days that I won't be in town...

The quote I got seemed pretty expensive. They also charge (at least on my quote) for valet (as well as security though I think that is more customary).

  • Thanks Ladies!  I think I will steer clear of them.

The venue is absolutely gorgeous! I had the opportunity to visit the venue but was surprised to see how much construction that still needed to be completed. After the visit, I was ready to move forward with booking the venue. I requested a final quote after giving Karen my food selections and also inquiring about the bar packages. I wrote several emails to her and she did not respond. I also called and left a message with the receptionist but did not receive a call back. My fiance finally got a hold of her and her response was that she was very busy and would respond to our emails when she gets to them and that she responds to them on Fridays. It has been a month and still have not received a response back from Karen or anyone from Chateau Cocomar. If the lack of customer service is already like this, I cannnot imagine how it would be like if I were to have my wedding there. Even though Chateau Cocomar would of been the perfect wedding venue for us, I am going to book somewhere else where I am ensured quality customer service for my fiance and I and most importantly, our guests!
  • So I have a friend getting married there in October and her sister did bridals there, she said that communication has been pretty bad, but she also said that they just hired a new coordinator and construction is pretty much finnished now so their communication should get better.  I think their staff has just been super stressed because of the construction and stuff.  I think its a beautiful venue, here is a link to her sisters bridals, http://www.jonathanivyphoto.com/slideshows/amber_bridal
  • I took my bridals there, and I agree that the place is absolutely gorgeous. I took my bridals back in May with all of the construction still being done heavily outside, and Karen gave me a discount, so that was good. On the day that I was getting ready for my shoot, another bride and her parents had come, and the security officer turned them away because Karen had gone out of town (She arranged for the security officer to be there to let us in and take photos at the property). From what I witnessed, the bride had an appointment with her!

Karen and I had pretty good communication through email. But, I agree with mrssusancollins in that maybe Karen is super stressed because of the construction. I haven't been back since May to see any progress.

  • Check out Lindsay Lakes in Cypress (290 & Mueschke Rd. There are 4 wedding coordinators, I believe. Our daughter's wedding is in February and we booked in April. They usually answer e-mails and calls the same day. We have been very impressed with their warmth, professionalism, and communication. You can bring your own alcohol in.
  • I just visited today...gorgeous!  The walls still need some decoration but they said that it will be done in 2 months (Nov 2012).  They are already having a few weddings there.  The price for Saturday night is about $10k...for all of you wondering!
