Groomswoman and Bridesman attire?

So hypothetically if FI and I have my brother be a bridesman and his sister a groomswoman what do they each wear in the wedding?

    The groomswoman would wear a dress and just stand on your FI's side of the altar/ The bridesman would wear a suit or tux and stand on your side.

    My friend had her brother as her honor attendant and her DH had his sister as his honor attendant.  Brother wore the same tux as the other men.  Sister wore the same dress as the BMs.

    Would it be weird if the groomswoman wore a black dress maybe with a sash or ribbon that is the same color as the bridesmaids dresses and have the bridesman's tie be the same color as the bridesmaid dresses?

    What have other people done?

    I think it would be fine to have a groomswoman wear a black dress with a sash.

    My best guy friend stood on my side, and he wore a white vest and aqua tie, and we decided to have the groomsmen in aqua vests and white ties, so he wasn't dressed exactly the same, but everything still tied together. Their suits were the same.

    Pretty much whatever you want them to.  They can wear the same outfits as the other attendants of their genders, the same outfit as their gender but in the same color as their side, or something entirely different.  Totally depends on what you want and what they're comfortable with.

    ETA:  We did ours a bit differently because DH wanted the GM in white tuxes.  So the breakdown:

    Bridesmaids: Black dresses, silver accents
    Bridesman: Black tux, black shirt, silver vest and tie
    Groomsmen: White tux, black shirt, silver vest and tie
    Groomswoman: Silver dress, white wrap

    That way we had the really nice black and white contrast.

    Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

    Honestly, you can do it any way you like.  Remember that not everyone even has the BMs or GM matching each other.  And one of the advantages of being the bride is that you get to dictate what the members of your wedding party wear.
