Meals for Vendors?

I just read a Knot article about remembering meals for your vendors at the reception, and making sure this is addressed in your catering contract.  This is honestly something I've never thought about and I'm not sure why, obviously they need to eat too :)  So who is all included in that?  DJ?  DOC? Photographer(s)?  Do you also feed the catering staff?  Budget-wise, it will be important if we're adding 10+ meals to our bill.  Thoughts?  Thanks!

That's something to ask your vendors. it's wouldn't include the staff. Usually caterers have a discounted vendor meal. We're providing for our photographers and DJ.

We just did the vendors that would be there over the dinner hour, so just the photographers for us.  We didn't have a DOC and the DJ didn't come unitl after dinner.

We did the same, our photogs ate and no one else was there over our meal time. We did discuss it with her ahead of time though during our first consult. Someone on here gave me a great list of questions to ask a photographer and it was on the list, otherwise I probably would not have thought to ask.

    Hello!
Shoot, we totally forgot to discuss this with our soon-to-be photog (of course we'll feed him) and our catering/event rep.  I have a feeling that D'amico doesn't give discounted vendor meals.  Have to ask tomorrow at the tasting.

If our DJ is playing 6:30-midnight, do we get him a meal, too?
When do they eat - just before the shift?  (and if so, can't he eat his own food before the shift & then start working?)  Just wondering... haven't had a q/a question with them yet.

It probably depends on the DJ. We're using Midwest sound. Since he's playing cocktail hour through midnight, we're offering him a meal.
I would think they would take care of it themselves if they didn't put it in the contract. Just double check :)

We're having meals for our photographer (and her two assistant shooters) and our wedding coordinator. Our band won't be starting until 7pm, so we're not feeding them (and it's not in their contract).

Our vendor meals are just club sandwiches and chips.

I forgot about this! Thanks for the reminder :)  We'll probably just feed the photogs and the officiant (family friend that will be at the reception.)  We're not having a DJ, and I'm still undecided on the DOC.

Oh! another vendor I forgot... Do you typically feed the officiant if they're not a clergy member or friend or providing pre-M counseling?  Like everything else, I guess it just depends on the contract.
