Nevada-Las Vegas

Where are you staying?

Which Vegas hotel will you be staying in? Initially we were going to stay at the Flamingo because my ceremony is there but then I changed my mind to the suites at Elara so that I would have more room for the entourage on my wedding day and the bigger bathrooms. For some reason im still just not totally sure on the Elara.

Just thought I would find out where other knotties stayed / are staying.

  • Elara too! Stayed there before and loved it! What are you unsure about?

  • We are staying in a 1 bedroom suite at The Signature with an adjoining jr suite. I wanted to make sure there was lots of room in case we entertained our guests in our room for some time. It has a full kitchen, so will be nice to drink and have some snacks for cheap.
  • The Mirage :)
  • Go Mini Suite at The Flamingo. We're getting Married at The Flamingo, and I am so relieved I don't have to worry about traveling the day of the wedding - I know that would stress me out so much! The Flamingo has bigger suites if you're concerned about space.

  • Golden Nugget Rush Tower :)
  • We are staying at the Monte Carlo along with our 80 guests, everyone seems really excited to stay there as it is very nice, not too pricey but not too cheesy!

  • We are staying at Treasure Island for the first couple nights in Vegas. I will be staying there 2 nights. Then we move over to Caesars Palace before the wedding. The wedding is taking place at Caesars. We'll be spending 5 nights total there.

  • We're staying at the Cosmopolitan for a week then doing a tour of California then we're back in Vegas for 4 nights at Treasure Island. My guests are all staying at Aria and Vdara.
  • I agree that you don't want to have to travel far (especially if it's hot or realy windy!), but I don't think Elara is very far from Flamingo, right?

We are staying at the wedding hotel (Four Seasons) and I probably wouldn't have gone more than a property or two away just so I didn't have to deal with walking around the strip all done up.

FI really loves Elara from the pics on their website plus it's beside our fave, PH. BUT I heard they have security manning the elevators, is that true? I'm not cool with that! Our second choice is the Mirage (tower suite). They look so awesome. My parents want to stay at NYNY (FI's parents don't have a preference) but I'm trying to get everyone to stay where we are instead of being spread out all over the strip.
  • The Four Seasons. Yay killer regional airline package deals! I'm getting married at the Flamingo.

They have someone standing at the bank of elevators who just wants to you show a key card. Every hotel I've stayed at in Vegas has someone at the elevator wanting to see a card, so it's no different....I think they're just making sure "unsavory" people aren't wandering through the hotel. Last time I stayed there, they started to recognize me - halfway through the trip they would just wave me though.

  • For the night before the wedding, night of the wedding and the night after we're staying in a Mirage tower suite (2 bedroom hopefully). We'll stay somewhere a bit cheaper for the first two nights but not sure where yet, recommendations welcome!

  • Thanks knotties. I wasnt sure about the elevator security issue at Elara but I guess it makes sense. Just thought it would be crazy annoying having to go down to the lobby to greet any guests especially coz on the day of i will have HMUA, photographer, videographer and DOC to let in may just have to send someone else down. I didnt mind the Flamingo but the non smoking aspect of Elara really appealed to me we are non smokers. Thank you so much for sharing.

We never had a problem like that at any of the hotels we stayed so this is good to know. Thanks!!
  • We're staying at the Mirage :)

Gotcha. I think you're going to run into that problem with a lot of hotels. The only one who didn't have security 100% of the time when I stayed there was Flamingo: no security during the day, but they did have it at night (probably to keep the working girls out lol ) Maybe if you let the key-card checker guy know that you'll have several people going to your room, and provide names, he can just let them in without making you come down?

  • Thanks for the info Meg. We do like Elara and especially because it is right next to planet hollywood for a choice in rooms for our guests. I do think that most guests will probably stay where we stay except for maybe FIs parents as his FMIL is a smoker.

  • FYI...we stayed at Flamingo a few weeks ago and there wasn't any security day or night. Missmo, have you looked at the Elara suites on YouTube? Omg they are awesome! Also check the reviews on Tripadvisor... Lilly...have you seen the Go Suite in person? I was wondering how big they were.
  • We're staying at Paris because that's where our ceremony is. I have a pretty elaborate dress and I'm generally a clumsy person. I was terrified that I'd destroy it trying to go between hotels.

  • We are staying at aria, I just set up room block and got.a great deal. Our guest will stay in delux suits and we are staying in the one bedroom panorama penthouse, probably have our reception in there too!
