Wedding Invitations & Paper

What to include in wedding invite "pkg"

I don't want to forget anything in the wedding invitations..... Is there anything I'm forgetting?

- invitation
- reply card
- return envelope with postage
- directions
- hotel reservation info?

Re: What to include in wedding invite "pkg"

  • I included registry information as well, but that can be a touchy subject at times (our families wanted the info to be handy instead of having to rely on the game of telephone). You have all the info your guests will need!!

  • Many people have a separate insert for the reception if it is in a different location than the ceremony.

You can make an accommodations or other information card if you want for things like hotel block information. You can also put a link to a wedding website on there if you have one.

    Don't include registry info.

I'll ditto Summer again :) I swear that I do have original thoughts, but sometimes Summer posts almost exactly what I was going to say, so no need to re-write it.

  • Do not put anything about registries in the invitation. If someone wants to know where you are registered, they'll know to ask.

I'll be wondering this too, but I am planning to include our wedding website. All info are there including room blocks, accommodations, and registries. If folks want to know they are all there but I will not mention the website contents on the invitations. If they are curious, they are invited to look, if they call me I will just say it's in our website. Too crood?? Feedback is welcome =) Thank you brides.

In addition, in this day and age with mobile phones and GPS, shall I still include the directions or will the address suffice??

    1. It's fine to include the things you listed on your website, but if someone calls and asks, it might be nice to explain it to them versus just saying "It's in our website"!

    2. I don't think directions printouts are necessary. Most people would use a phone/gps or Google Maps, anyways. Unless there is something unusual that wouldn't be found on a GPS (like a weird location for the parking lot, construction detours, a quicker/better route that GPS doesn't follow, etc)

When posters say "don't not include registry information on the invite", does this mean directly written on the invite? Or do you mean don't not include any registry info at all within the invite envelope (such as a separate insert).

It means do not include any information about registries in any form in the invitation.
