2 Hours enough for the DDB?

We are taking a tour of the DDB after a midafternoon lunch/dinner. They'll be picking us up from the Excalibur, taking us to the Vegas Sign, then to the Fountains and then dropping us off at MGM. There'll be about 50-60 of us. I'm just wondering if 2 hours will be enough to get both those stops in and have a chance for everyone to get the pictures we want? Was thinking of booking for 3 hours, but think that might be too long. Any thoughts?

Re: 2 Hours enough for the DDB?

  • I was thinking of getting the same thing for the same amount of time! How much are you paying? I think 2 hours will be enough time for where you are wanting to go!

  • I was quoted the price of $318 for two hours. I haven't booked it yet, but am going to do so in the next week or two.

  • I would ask them for their opinions on time based on location stops. I was told for two hours I should generally get one or two stops in with no problems. However, I've heard there can be long lines at the sign. A suggestion that one of the staff told me is that if we don't have the time to stop and get off the bus for a large group photo at the sign which is what I wanted, that they have had pictures done where they park by the sign so you can see the sign in the background along with the strip and everyone is on the top of the bus. I thought that was a cute alternative if time doesn't allow otherwise.
  • That's interesting Emilia, I have a stop at the sign in my DDB itinerary (its our first stop) but would be interested to try that shot from the top of the bus too!

We wanted to try to fit in photos at the sign and Fremont street in 2 hours and they have told we'll be pushing it, but because we're starting at Little Chapel of the West which is right by the sign, and being dropped of at The Wynn which is at the northern end of the strip we might just squeeze it in. To me it felt like 3 hours would be too long to be on the bus so I haven't lengthened our trip and am hoping to just go with the flow on the day and we end up being ages at the sign and if traffic isn't so great we might stop elsewhere on the strip for photos instead of trekking all the way to Fremont St. We have booked our reception now so can't do anything about the timings anyway!

  • Perhaps just make a list of the stops you want in order of preference and just do what you can. As you said, you stuck with that time anyway, so try not to stress. I've heard generally they recommend 3 hrs if you do Fremont because its off strip and people usually walk around for a bit. However that may be if people want to do more than one other stop, not sure. You do have to account for traffic on the strip. My main stop is the sign. Anything else I'm going to go on the fly so I don't stress. I just wanted at least one giant group photo somewhere. If I get more than that, great!
  • I would say ask mike. What day of the week are you doing the DDB? As weekend traffic may be more heavily. We did ours on a Tuesday night for two hours and made it from flamingo to Fremont street and stayed at Fremont street for about 45 minutes before heading back.

  • We will be doing it on a Thursday night, but it'll be the week of Labor Day, so I'm hoping that traffic and Vegas as a whole isn't that busy. I think that the weekend before is when it'll be a lot busier.
