Re: TGIF

  • Date night with BF this evening. We got a Kama Sutra game and intend on playing that again tonight ;)

Saturday: 6 mile hike in the canyon, followed by some beer-drinking and pool playing, helping my dad move, then probably exhausted sleeptimes.

Sunday: Early service church, breakfast with my family, lounging and swimming/bathing puppy. Then dinner with my mom.

Damn. Re-reading that, I've got it pretty darn well. I hope everyone else is going to be having a splendid weekend! What about you, Hoboken? Anything planned?

  • Some friends are coming over tonight to hang since I'm still immobile.  Other than that, just a low-key weekend.  Waiting for the reshipment of my Save the Dates from vistaprint and its driving me crazy because they are supposed to be here today and haven't come yet.

  • I had a bunch of errands to run and I wanted to clean the house, but I've been glued to the police scanner and twitter for the last 4 hours. Everytime I go to get up, something imporant is said. Driving myself crazy.
  • Tonight I have a concert to go to. FI was supposed to come with but his coworker has no idea if he is working before the day of, so FI and I has to work and I'm taking a friend instead. Tomorrow there is Doctor Who, and that is just about the extent of my weekend.

  • Tonight I organized my first recent local Knottie GTG: me and one other.

I will consider that a success because I'm not spending Friday night alone and I get to meet a new person!

  • Going to a required Homebuyer's Education workshop tomorrow morning then MY BRIDAL SHOWER! Just a bit excited about that one! Then church on Sunday morning :)
    Soon-to-be Mrs. Kent
  • FI and I are leaving this afternoon to go see his family!  We can't wait!
  • I'm excited we are meeting with the priest at our church to get some wedding dates. So excited.
Otherwise we'll be doing lots of packing, may be some furniture shopping.browsing and a trip to Home Depot.

[QUOTE]It's Friday so we have shabbas dinner tonight. I'm making buttery chicken (we're not overly religious lol) with a warm brussel sprout salad and challah rolls with roasted garlic and olive oil to dip it in. Also wine. In our home Friday night = wine night.  Saturday we were thinking about driving up to Maryland for a crab feast.  Sunday we'll go to our neighborhood farmer's market and watch game of thrones at night.  So basically food. Food is what are plans are for this weekend.

I'm going to need that warm Brussels sprout salad recipe. . . . PRONTO!!!

    GTG= get together

When people on the boards meet in their local areas. In 2006 or so when I planned my first wedding, the local boards were hopping and we met weekly on my board. We developed really close friendships who are really the bulk of my current friends and 2 of them are in my wedding.

I'm trying to start them up again locally.

Tonight: Champagne immediately upon arrival home. Immediately. Then Mexican feast cause I like feeling all wifey. But mostly cause I like guacamole and chopping things. My dressmaker should have some sketches soon, which would be amazing, but just the week being over is plenty.

Tomorrow: Nice long spring stroll for brunch ($10 bottomless mimosas, I'd go every day if I could), then haircut, then Record Store Day, then that special brunch hangover you get in the middle of the day unless you keep drinking. So I'll probably keep drinking.

Sunday: YARD PARTY. Planting things is even more therapeutic than chopping things. Also more wine. Then Game of Mad Thrones Men, the best 2 hours of TV in the history of ever.

You may notice a grape-based beverage trend.

    ETA: I'm a lucky girl.

</div><div>We thought it would be worth a laugh if nothing else, took it home, and played. Took 3 hours, we talked and talked and touched and then had mad crazy good sexy times. It has different cards that some of them are positions (and whoever wins get to put their position cards in order and then you use them), there are talking point cards ('Tell me what you would do to me if we were out camping), and interactive cards (Kiss/carress three spots on your partner as directed, for up to 2 minutes).</div><div>

  • Tonight FI's parents are coming into town and taking us to dinner and to see Jim Gaffigan (although I just saw on twitter that his flight from Ohio got canceled...I really hope he makes it in time!)

Tomorrow I have a groupon for a mani-pedi which I need badly, then we're going to see a friend's new apartment/help her finish moving/drink some beer.

Sunday all I have to do is meet with a potential renter for our parking spot. Not sure why she wanted to meet, usually when they say they're interested I just have them send me a check and then get their info to the appropriate people, but she wanted to meet so idk.

  • Tonight:  Making myself a huge plate of pasta and possibly making H go and get me a chocolate milkshake from Cold Stone.

Tomorrow:  Running in my first 10K ever!  Super nervous, especially since this week has been so hectic that I haven't gotten a run in since Saturday.  My goal is to run it in one hour, but I think realistically it will be more like 1 hour 10 minutes.

After the race, I am going to eat a nice early lunch and take a long hot shower.  Then H and I will probably head to Nordstrom's to get a new pair of spanx for a wedding I am in next weekend and then I will make him take me to Cheesecake Factory as a celebratory dinner for completing my race.

Sunday:  Will be a day of me recovering and doing the weekly monotonous house chores.

  • 31 gifts is a home based business that tries to get you to buy canvas organizers an stuff that you can get custom embroidered. I hate parties like those because you feel guilty if ou don't buy and pissed at yourself afterward if you do.
  • Cleaning up tonight and unpacking a few boxes.  Thrilling I know.  I clean when I'm stressed though so I know it's going to make me feel better.

Tomorrow some friends are supposed to come up to visit.  I don't think they will have trouble getting here (my new apartment is 45 min away from Boston), but it all depends on how things go.  Tomorrow night my FI is taking me out for a fancy dinner just because.  I totally love him for knowing that I had a bad week and trying to make things better in his own way.

Sunday we have NOTHING planned so I forsee wedding planning and video games.  And perhaps baking.  I could use some tasty treats!

This is one of those things that I've never ever heard of before but suddenly, I hear about it all the time. The other day Kristan suggested it to someone, first I ever heard of it. 2 days later my cousin signed up as a consultant and asked me to host a party, and now here it is again. I don't mind home parties in general, I buy if I want something, I don't if I don't. But this is just a product line I have no use for until maybe Christmas if I am really stuck on someone.

I am invited to a Celebrating Home party. They have a bean pot with a carrier that I think is cool and all, but together is like $70 and you know, I have a crockpot.

This happened to me with Tilapia years ago. Never heard about it...saw it all the time after that.

  • Tonight, I want to eat sushi for dinner. I would love to see a movie but there's absolutely nothing that I want to see.

Tomorrow, FI and I are going to the wild bird sanctuary north of the city and then we're going to a friend's house for a dog party. Yes - a party for our dogs.

And Sunday, we're going to take our puppy hiking for the first time and see how she likes it. She loves being outside and going for walks, and the trail goes through woods and a prairie and it's an off-leash park. Excited to see how it goes!
  • I am currently getting a pedicure. Tonight I am cooking grilled chicken wraps. Tomorrow is work all day. Sunday is dress shopping!!!

Who's ready for some good news?

DH got the diocese placement!  They offered him part time plus aftercare.  It's a pay cut but we'll be able to pay our bills and won't have to move.  He's still going to look for something full time but it's a huge weight lifted.  I tell you there must be someone looking out for us as it's only been a week.

  • This is the one weekend we don't have major plans. We usually have date night on Fridays, at some point we have to get me a new phone. Mine keeps going apeshit, than it works, and its back to being a PITA. We talked about going to see my friend and her DH and their new baby. He was born early and was released on Monday, a day after their baby shower. We are will probably continue the massive sorting, organizing that we've been doing the last few weeks.
