So today I went to go look at my VERY first potential wedding venues! I went to two today. I first went to The Venetian in Garfield, NJ and needless to say I fell in love!! There wasn't anything bad to say about the place except for when we were brought up into the office and they broke us the news -- we have to have AT LEAST 200 people in attendance before they will even consider us. She wouldn't even let me see what dates were available because she "didn't have to" because of my number of guets. Of course all of this was told to me this right at the very end, after I fell completely in love with it.

I'm a little discouraged but I'm not giving up! The Venetian isn't totally out of the question and I still have a few more to look at but I was wondering if anyone could help. As of now I'm planning to have about 150-180 guests (still working on the list), price range we are thinking is 150-200 pp before fees, but willing to work it out if we do find the right venue.
Could anyone reccomend some places in north NJ area? Especially anything similar to the Venetian?
Thanks so much!
Re: North Jersey Venue - Help!
[QUOTE]Our wedding was at Florentine Gardens - we had close to 270 attend but I believe for a Friday night the minimum is 175. Guests are still raving about the food, service & place in general. I also recommend: Rockleigh Country Club Westmount County Club Nanina's in the Park Il Villaggio - this place is known for their food! Season's - same owners of the Venetian but a little cheaper in price and the guest minimum is not as high

Check out Seasons, Venetian's sister venue. I'm getting married there next June and can't wait! I've been to several weddings there as well, it's GORGEOUS, amazing food, and more affordable than Venetian although still a bit pricey.
I also liked Il Villagio and Il Tulipano!
