Hello all!

Just wanted to see if you all had any recommendations for a make-up artist that works well with African American women.  I'm not getting married until next year but I do know that I want to hire a mua for all of my bridesmaids and my mother and future mother in law.

    I havent booked with anyone yet, still waiting for them to post more pics on their portfolios or get back to me with recent dark skinned bride pics. Ive seem some brides ending up looking ashy from the foundation and Im having a daytime garden wedding so the makeup has to be well done.

    It took me a while to choose someone.. after looking at photo galleries. I emailed and talked to them about specifics. Especially since I'm not a make up person.. I am excited about who I've chosen... can't wait!!

    One of my bridesmaids was African American and Whitney from Desert Glamour did a fantastic job on her hair. It came out beautiful!

    I'm African American and I'm using Whitney from Desert Glamour for my October 2013 wedding. I asked her if she has worked on African American women and she was able to send me pics of some of her work. I'll post reviews after my wedding. 

    You can ask any of the MUA that you are interested in whether or not they have experience working on African American women. They should be able to show you some of their work.
