Fiesta dinnerware from Macys

Hi! I registered for casual dinnerware only because we have no use for china, and no where to store it. The dinnerware I registered for is Fiesta brand. I love all the different colors of things you can get! Does anybody else use Fiesta dinnerware?

We have some pieces from it. It's basic and does the job!

Yes. We did three colors. I think you'll find many on this board like Fiesta
No. I personally find it gaudy and garish. No offense, it's just not my style.
    Posted by Sleeper2013
One could have one or two colors, even neutrals like black and white.  I assume that you find a multicolored collection gaudy but not necessarily Fiesta as a whole?

Anyhoo, we have four colors that (I think) compliment each other well.  I don't think we will plan to use all four colors at once, but I like any combination of two of the colors we have (turquoise, shamrock, cobalt, and scarlet), depending on the occasion.

I wish we had done Fiesta. I LOVE our plates from C&B, but they were discontinued 6 months after our wedding, and they were fairly similar in style to Fiesta.

We did four bright colors. They probably dont even really match, but I love them. I guess some could say they are gaudy, but they are def my style. I just love the bright colors of them and all the color combos you can put together. And yes, they are basic, but thats exactly what I wanted. Our kitchen has a lot of windows and they let in a ton of light, so its really bright in there. I wanted something that would pop. So, along with the dinnerware, I also registered for colorful kitchen towels, oven mitts, etc.

Kristen, I love your colors! I decided on Flamingo, Peacock, Lemongrass & Tangerine.

I did each piece seperately because I did not like the bowls that come with the sets. I wanted bigger bowls. We also have the flamingo colored salt and pepper shakers and the flamingo colored pasta bowl & cheese shaker. The prices of each piece are very reasonable, compared to some other brands. I also like that there is a 5 year chip warranty on them.

Fi's parents have Fiestaware. It looks great and they're super durable. We were going to regoster for those but found some great rustic dishes at C&B that we're doing instead.
<strong>Sierra, I love your color choices.  So cheerful</strong>. I would have registered for Fiestaware, but it wasn't available in the small town where I was married.

FI already has Fiesta so we might just register for a few more pieces.  It is made in his hometown area on the West Virginia/OH border.  OP it is only an hour drive from Pittsburgh and they have a "seconds" store there with great prices.
I don't care for the oval buffet style plates because they take up a lot of room in the dishwasher but I like the round ones like in the pictures you posted.

That is awesome! If you had to pick three, which colors would be your favorite? What pieces do you have?

Know what else I like about Fiesta? Its affordable! I will have no problem buying any pieces we do not get as gifts. They are always on sale too and have awesome deals where you can buy 4, get 1 free.

I'm not a fan of Fiesta.  The little keyhole handle of a mug makes drinking coffee awkward.  I also just don't like the looks of it.

We have VERY multicolored Fiestaware and I love it! If its your style you can't beat it. Very durable and fun. Good call on the larger bowls, they are much more useful. I do agree with PP about the keyhole handles being awkward, but it's not bad enough to change my opinion on the brand. Love the colors you picked!

We have turquoise, cobalt, marigold, and paparika. We registered for a ton of it; got most of it; and have been continually buying more pieces in the past year. We went with the 5 piece sets instead of the 4 piece, so we have different mugs than everyone else is commenting on, but they are actually much smaller. We don't really use them unless we're entertaining, though, so it's not really a big deal to us, but something to consider if you plan on using them every day.

I didnt even notice the keyhole until it was mentioned here. I registered for all pieces seperately, so I ended up registering for the 12oz java mugs, which do not have a keyhole. But of course, they dont have the java mugs in lemongrass. So, I will have 1 keyhhole one, but prob wont ever use it. Im so glad it was mentioned. I wouldve been p!ssed if I had to use the little keyhole cups.

We registered for Fiesta Ware too! We chose ivory, peacock blue, paprika, and marigold. We received the companion set, and two pasta bowls too.  It makes it all come together. I was going to register for some of the other hosting pieces, but we registered for a different brand/set of other serveware for parties and stuff, but I love the whole collection.

I went to college in Steubenville, and my roommates and I outfitted our kitchen with Fiestaware seconds from that store when we got our off-campus apartment!  I still have platters, a pitcher, glasses and pasta bowls that I can't tell that there's anything wrong with, but I got them for dirt cheap.  This just made me nostalgic...

I love fiesta - we registered for dinner plates, lunch plates, java mugs, and small bowls.  That created the set in the sizes we liked the most, and we got every single piece.

No it's not everybody's style, but if you like color it's great quality.  Personally I find too much neutral to be really boring and sort of sad.  FI and I figured that our apartment is already biege... no need to add yet more "neutral" to an already overly-neutral space.  The color realyl brightens things up.

The lunch plates would be a good idea! We registered for the 4 piece set, and we got all of them except for 1 setting. The salad plates are kind small, the luncheon ones would be perfect. I think I may update my registry with a few of these individual pieces.

We did Fiestaware too! We did the Ivory, Scarlet, and Paprika colors. I Love it! My SIL has it and it's so durable and the colors are so pretty and different!

We also registered for Fiesta settings. FI's parents have Fiesta, so he grew up with it. I love colors, and prefer solid to patterns, so it's perfect for us. We selected ten different colors, so we'll have a whole rainbow of plates hopefully.

I love the colors you picked! I also registered for Fiesta and I've been using it all for about 6 months and I love it still. Our place settings are the 5 piece sets (we're tea people, not coffee people so we didn't need mugs) and we got them in turquoise and plum. We also received a ton of companion items in Colbalt, Peacock and a few little things in Flamingo (I couldn't resist).

My favorite item I received was the hostess bowl http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/fiesta-dinnerware-hostess-bowl?ID=602812

I think Fiesta is one of those things you either love or hate, but there's no denying that they're classics.

Peacock, marigold, and paprika are my favorites.  In addition to those I have shamrock, cobalt, scarlet, tangerine, sunflower, lemongrass, and turquoise.  I still want plum and I'm thinking about flamingo too.

Where do you think the best place to register for Fiesta is as far as price and variety of pieces/selection?  I have seen it on sale at Kohl's quite often but it sounds like it is also at Macy's and maybe other places as well.

Macy's and Kohl's are both great for FIestaware.  They run sales often, and buyers with a store credit card can save an additional 15-30%.  I've heard Macy's has a better in-store selection (I bought mine at Kohl's and did have to buy quite a few pieces online).
