John Jae Video? Anyone have good or bad feedback?

Hello all!

I'm on a super tight budget and came across John Jae Video on the Wedding Wire last night...Has anyone used them or plan on using them? Their prices seem too good to be true if you know what I'm saying...I understand you get what you pay for but their samples are convincing me otherwise. I would love to hear from anyone who has used them or plan on using them.

Thanks!

Re: John Jae Video? Anyone have good or bad feedback?

  • Don't know what their prices are, but it could simply be that they're just starting out and need to make a portfolio. If they're as good as you say and as cheap as you think, book them before they raise their prices.
  • I scheduled an appointment with them for this Sunday so I will let everyone know how it goes!

Their prices are literally a thousand dollars less compared to other companies offering similar products. I actually asked him about that in my initial inquiry and this is what he said:

"Our prices are considerably lower than the competition right now because this business is in its infancy. However, we are still an experienced team of videographers who have been in the industry for 5+ years now. Another contributing factor is that we have much less overhead compared to competing studios because we conduct our meetings out of the local Starbucks in Fort Lee."

This makes a lot of sense and actually makes me feel a lot better about meeting with them! I'm always skeptical when it comes to this stuff because I have heard some HORROR stories that I want to avoid! Anyway, I hope the meeting goes well and will report back on Sunday.
  • I met with Dan and booked with him right away!  My mother and I went to meet with him and loved his personality.  yes they are a lot cheaper than other places.  When i spoke with him, he advised it is mostly because they are starting out the company (even though he has experience...i think the company he was at before moved to California).  anyway, i absolutely love every vidoe on the company's website, so am sure that they will do a great job.  We went with the Keepsakes package at $1500 (those are the video examples on his website). I dont think you can find another deal as good.  I would book soon before prices go up!  our wedding is 9-7-13 and can't wait to have him video.  He assured me the quality would be similar to what is out on his website.  if you want, you can tell him Diana recommended you!!!  he was so great & accomodating, even met me out half way at a Starbucks in Wayne.

I met with Daniel from John Jae Video at a Starbucks in Wayne on Monday. He was very accommodating. I was coming from Morristown and asked if he was willing to meet half way since he has a mobile office and he was more than happy to oblige!

I first met with Eric from Creative Unlimited because I am a huge fan of his work and he came highly recommended from a friend. I was very close to putting down a deposit until I came across John Jae Video and took a meeting with them. Their products are very similar, with exception of price. John Jae offered a whole lot more for almost half the price of Creative. In the end, I am extremely happy that I decided to go with John Jae Video. I think his work is on par, or even better in my opinion, for a very reasonable price.

Also, he was very flexible in re-arranging his packages to lower the price for me which I thought was really awesome!

  • We are using John Jae videography for our wedding on Saturday night. I'll let you know how it goes!
  • I used John Jae Video for my July wedding and we LOVED our video.  Dan did an amazing job and was so much more reasonable than other videographers. On the day of he was not obtrusive at all but still managed to capture all the important moments.  I highly recommend him.. PM if you want more info :)

We were torn between whether or not event to have a videographer.  I want it, but the FI doesn't -- After much ado about nothing, we settled on an alternative and booked www.flipahit.com -- really cute idea.

  • So I met with Daniel from John Jae Videography on Sunday and we booked him right away! He was very easy going and I loved his personality. Surrounding myself with the right people is very important to me on my wedding day. The meeting was less than 20 minutes which was also a relief. I've met with 2 photographers so far and both meetings were painfully long. I am extremely pleased with the price that we booked, the quality of their work, and what you get for your money! I can't wait to work with them and will report back after the wedding! Now I need to nail down the other vendors.
