I wanted a nice wedding with little stress on my part. We booked everything online based on reviews and this discussion board. I left most of the planning up to our vendors. Overall everything went really well. The only thing we didn’t anticipate was everything takes 10 times longer in Vegas. We really didn’t have much time over the weekend to relax, site see, or hangout with our guests.
The Grove-A+
I was a little nervous as I had very little contact with The Grove leaving everything in their hands. It was better than I could have imagined. Our consultant Zina was great. She even steamed my dress to get out the wrinkles from the ride over. There have been comments on here about the drive to The Grove, but the ride wasn’t bad at all, it was less than 20 minutes from Treasure Island both on weekday and weekend. However, I am sure it’s a nightmare at rush-hour. We paid for the extra half hour of time on the property to do pictures. We had 18 guests and would have had more than enough time for pictures without spending the money for the extra time.
We loved The Grove itself and their staff. As part of our contract we used some vendors who were selected by and paid for by the Grove as part of our package. Some of them I was happy with others I wish I had hired my own outside vendor. Below are our reviews of each of their vendors:
Belle Trans-A The shuttle bus promptly picked up the guests at the hotel and brought them to the ceremony and back.
Reverend Philip Larimore-A+ Again we left this up to the Grove so we really didn’t know who we were getting until we got there. He was great. He knew when to make a joke and when to be serious and knew what to say to calm the nerves. Couldn’t have been happier.
Natures Flowers-C If I could do everything over again the only thing I would have changed was probably to order flowers from an outside vendor. I wasn’t really disappointed the day of because I already expected the flowers to be wrong and they of course were. The florist is contracted through the Grove and when we signed our contract with them she promptly emailed me introducing herself and sending me a link to pictures of bouquets she had done. But communication from there went downhill. I emailed her several times half my emails she did not respond to. I ended up calling her she was very apologetic and said she got too many emails a day and couldn’t find mine and wasn’t able to open the links of the picture of the bouquet I wanted. It seems she isn’t very skilled in using email. The flowers were beautiful and the price was great but they weren’t what I had requested. She also said she would provide vases so I didn’t purchase any. The vases went missing after the ceremony. With the heat all of the flowers were dead before the reception.
Sunset Studios-C
Our package included 20 pictures taken by Sunset Studios, which was contracted through The Grove. I wanted to make sure we received plenty of pictures so we hired Todd Wilson as our additional photographer. I am glad I hired the additional outside photographer. Sunset Studios had 2 photographers I couldn’t understand what either one was saying to me. I wanted Todd to be our main photographer and could really careless that they were there. They were also getting in Todd’s way. Luckily Todd sensed my frustration and stepped in and told them to step aside. I haven’t seen the pictures yet but I imagine they aren’t great.
