Gift Bags

I really like the idea of giving gift bags. Does anyone have suggestions on places that I can buy things like advil from? I think Costco is good for buying food, snacks, bottles of water, etc. Not sure where to buy individual packets of Advil from though.

Does anyone know where to buy good bags that aren't expensive?

You can get Advil from amazon (just make sure the expiration date is okay) or from Staples.

As for the bags, I would suggest Oriental Trading or a craft/dollar stores. We ordered ours from favorsyoukeep.com because you can personalize and I thought they were cute. They weren't too expensive IMO.

Just a thought... most people bring this type of stuff (water, advil) with them when they travel so you run the risk of wasting your money. If I were a guest, I would love to come to my hotel room and see a local treat left or something like that.

Agreed with Misssunshine. A treat (chocolates, popcorn, etc) made locally by a shop in your hometown is much more appreciated than some Costco items.

ehh I always appreciate the bottled water. A local specialty would be nicer than some Chewy bars, but I'd appreciate either.

I'm not sure, but I'd think Walgreens would sell them in their little travel / mini aisle...

We ordered our bags from Oriental Trading. We had local treats, a split of red and white wine (we had personalized labels done at OT, as well as bottled water (personalized labels as well). We also did hangover relief kits of Advil and Alka Selzer, etc.

I'd get the wine on sale a few bottles at a time, etc. We did 40 bags and they averaged about $5.00 a bag.

Oriental Trading was great to work with, they were affordable and I had no issues with them at all.

ETA: We got the Advil at Sam's and all of the Alka Selzer at the grocery store with some great coupons!

Definitely water (people can't fly with water bottles), a local treat, and a list of things to do.

FYI, you can get through airport security with an empty water bottle... I've done it a few times and I just fill it back up at the drinking foutain if I can, but lots of people don't think about this.

Whenever I travel, I find I always forgot something or decided against it, only to later figure out I did want it - sunscreen, bug repellent, sunglasses, dental floss --- not suggesting you buy all that, but I am suggesting that there is surely a few guests who will be really grateful for pepto, tums, advil, asprin, bandaids, or whatever you throw in there. I also find that hotels and big city late night convenience stores do charge a lot for a little thing of traveler's asprin.

I'd suggest -

water bottle
snack or treat from area
(salty snack and sweet snack - one of each - is a nice touch)
map/s brochures from area
take out menus from one or two places nearby that deliver (so people who don't want to leave the hotel can easily order in from a place you know is good - you could yelp! this in advance or have the hotel pull these for you)
asprin (because advil etc. is not safe for some people)
tums or rolaids or peto
bug repellent wipes and/or sunscreen wipes as suited to venue/s
wedding itinerary for the weekend/day of
contact sheet of wedding party/venue/s
map of venue/s (if needed)
welcome letter (ON TOP)
