TGIF

While I am glad it is Friday, I have one long ass day ahead of me. I work until three at one job, go home, eat, freshen up, then head to job number two where I will be working until at least 2:30 am. We also have a bday party coming in of 25 people.

Tomorrow I am getting a pedi! Finally. After 8 months. Tomorrow night we are going out to dinner then the bars for my birthday.

Sunday is my birthday! We are going over to my grandma's house for a mother's day cookout, then I think we have to go to FI's sister's house for another cookout. I will be happy when Sunday night comes around and I can sit on my couch and do nothing!

Re: TGIF

  • Happy almost birthday, @Stina51286!!

Tonight is going to be rather lazy for me, although cleaning has to happen. (I feel like I'm always cleaning!
Tomorrow is going to be busy-but productive! I'm going to finally redeem birthday coffee from Starbucks (yay for free GIANT SIZE coffee!) and then head up to REI and look at tents and sleeping bags and camping stuff.
Sunday is church, and then possibly a trip to JoAnns. Are any of you ladies going to have an aisle runner? I keep seeing things on other boards about how it's just a trip hazard and not really worth it. What do you think?
  • Happy Birthday Stina!

Nay to the aisle runner. They alway look awkward and funny to me. And it is an unnecessary expense.

No plans here. I'll probably just clean and do laundry and hang out with FI.

  • @Lplions- birthday coffee? How does one acquire one of these?

  • Happy almost birthday @Stina51286! (want to see what this tagging thing looks like - let me know if that worked)

We don't have much going on this weekend, tomorrow a cookout with our friends and we get to see their boys which I am excited about! (their 2yo is our ring bearer and the cutest little guy ever) And then mother's day stuff on Sunday. Tonight I am going to try to make this chicken dish:http://www.skinnytaste.com/2012/04/cheesy-jalapeno-popper-baked-stuffed.html

    Yum!

I think we are also going to look at bands and tuxes tomorrow. And I am going to get my nails done, and I have to go to the bank. (maybe I have more going on than I thought?

  • I think you need to become a frequent member and get a card - then you get a "free coffee coupon" in the mail the week of your birthday.

I don't drink coffee and I don't frequent Starbucks all that often, but somehow I'm on their list and I totally take advantage of my free chai latte!

But yeh, I don't remember how I got on this list...

  • I had a gift card that I registered on the Starbucks website and now I get the 'benefits' of it, and as you get new gift cards you can load them onto the original one. Once you purchase so many drinks you get a status upgrade and more benefits and stuff. I actually got their protein pack lunch thing for free for my birthday - they just discounted the most expensive thing instead of the most expensive drink, it was sweet!

And also, I won't be doing an aisle runner - my venue has beautiful hardwood floors and I wouldn't want to cover them up, or trip.

Quoting works, as does the link @hardlyhannah

  • Oooh. I'm hitting "reply" instead of "quote." Cause in the old version, "reply to this post" would quote it. Got it!!

  • Happy Birthday Weekend, Stina! I'm just looking forward to having my work week done. The last few weeks have been super stressful, not helping my neck injury any. I can't complain about the length of my work day though. Glad that so many people are having productive weekends!

    Its really good!

  • We went to a wedding on the beach that had one, and obviously, this wasn't well thought. Every time the wind blew, the runner would move. And someone would then run after it. I just have these images of bridesmaids running after a flying runner! Eventually one just mashed it into a ball and threw it. Pretty funny.

  • Thanks ladies!

@SewInLoveWithDMB- there used to be a quote button a long time ago. The last time they made changes, they removed it. I am glad it is back!

  • Didn't see the isle runner question, derp. We won't be using one because our venue has beautiful wood floors. Wouldn't want to not show them off, plus less worry for us!

To the birthday coffee question: PPs nailed it. I have a card that I registered & so I get "perks". I'm a gold card member now... (though it doesn't take that much to become a gold card member).

The chapel we are getting married in has not-so-pretty carpeting... plus, I have a 60% off a regular priced item at JoAnns, and I know there are aisle runners there. image

ETA: We're going to have the shades rolled up like that, and have candle "screens" up at the front behind us at the altar. That's pretty much the only decor we have planned. We'll figure out the lighting during the rehearsal.
  • We were told by the coordinator at the ceremony site not to do a runner. Bride's have fallen from the floor being wood and the runner slipping.

P.S. Where did the spell check button go?

There was a button? Mine does an "auto spell check" (red squiggly line)...

Yes there was  button! It was next to the little tree thing (where you add pictures). It said "ABC" with a little check mark under it. Now, I will redirect you to E, where if you go in like you are adding a post, you will see it.

Oh quotes within quotes now! Yay!

Sad, though, about the button... :(

I actually don't mind that carpet - I vote no runner, but I understand that my vote doesn't really count. I think it looks fine as is!

  • @SewInLoveWithDMB Yea... I don't know. I think half the reason I'm even considering it is because there isn't going to be any other decorations, apart from the candle screens. (hopefully you can see the picture)
