FFF/LFF

I flame anyone who has sub-bridesmaids or back-up bridesmaids. You are either a bridesmaid or a guest not inbetween.

Re: FFF/LFF

  • First time flamer- I flame the girl on my month board that thinks it is okay to have another wedding, three years after she got married, and then GBCK saying we called her names. If "gift grabby" is name calling, she's in for rude awakening if she stays on other boards.

I flame Knot Jackie for mass posts on the boards telling us of the updates and then not responding back when people make comments.

I flame the "friend" of FI who invited us to his wedding.

First of all, it was addressed to Mr. & Mrs. FI. Nope. Not married yet. So, you don't even keep in touch with FI enough to know that but we're good enough for a present? (we've been together almost 7 years. I've never heard of this friend)

Also, it's at 11:30. The "appetizer & drinks" reception is at 6.

I really don't want to be sh!tty about it, since it's FI's friend, but I REALLY don't want to go.
  • I flame the new board layout. That is all.

I do also.   My main compliant is the color.  It's so hard on my eyes.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I flame the layout for making it impossible to differentiate stickies and recent posts. I KEEP CLICKING ON THE STICKIES.

It looks like a page that hasn't loaded correctly and is all error-y.

I flame my mom for always being unhappy with any gift I give her.
  • I flame the new updates too because I can't post to the new updated boards, it asks for my log in and keeps trying to connect me but I don't connect.  I"ve been trying to connect since 8:30am.  This is going to be a long day.

I flame my mom for rubbing my nose in a discussion we had 8 months ago about the wedding budget.  We haven't talked about it since, she isn't paying for the wedding, but something else set her off and she decided to bring up our 8-months-stale discussion.  I flame her big time for that.

  • First time flamer here and I flame a bride and groom that would complain about the task of feeding their vendors. I read something that reminded me why I would never want to work in the wedding industry, it seems people want to cut corners everywhere. Your vendors are helping you pull off a very special day, god forbid they need to eat and you have to properly accommodate them.
  • I ditto the flames of the new layout. The white is extremely, extremely hard on my eyes. It needs to be a softer color.

Pretty sure it is clear you can't flame a person in the TOS - but I will let this slide because yes, I was slightly preoccupied with the updates and couldn't respond to every thread and question.

As the boards change over, of course there are going to be some issues and glitches. Every single thing I see that you point all out- I may not respond to, but I am sending the threads to our tech team - i PROMISE. Every thread of feedback has been sent over.

As of May 16 the boards will be completely updated- so really, only another week of up and downs and editing/changing things based on feedback. It'll be worth it.

I am going to do my best to respond to everything I missed yesterday - just give me some time, there is a ton.

I'm fine with the change in general , but why the white background?  That is just so hard on the eyes.

I  thought it was as long as we didn't name the person or link the thread? Or are you talking about me flaming you?

I think the thought process was "Clean and weddings" -- I agree, its is bland. We have a meeting today to talk about the design and I have tons of threads to show them :)
  • Another first time flamer... I flame my obnoxious coworker for making my life harder than it needs to be by not doing her job. I also flame my boss for not giving a crap about it. Ah...that felt good to get off my chest. Side note, I find the whole matching BM shirts/robes/getting ready together controversy interesting. I feel like this happens for at least half the weddings among my cohort. Maybe it's regional?

Flaming me :) You can't call a user out or link to their threads. Whatever, I expected today to be my day to be flamed.

"Clean and weddings" ::rolls eyes::    It is bland, but more importantly it hurts your eyes. It's so bright it lights up a room.

Most weddings have pops of colors. A message board should also.

  • I FFF all this white for sure and how hard it is on the eyes.

ALSO - I FFF the Knot Tech Gods because we STILL can't sort threads to show up in order of the newest post.  We used to be able to do this but what has it been now?  A couple of years?  I just want to say that "other wedding boards" show their threads in order of the newest post, but the Knot STILL hasn't fixed this.

I flame couples who don't want to feed their vendors.  We have always been over backwards for our girls' vendors because they are with us most of the day (well, not the DJ, but he makes/breakes the party) and we want them happy, fed, and doing a great job for us.

I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off all week.  Can someone give me some hints to find the thread about the woman who would give up her kids to have a PPD?

Overall, the feedback we got was that users wanted the most active threads at the top. I can find out about putting the threads in order starting with newest...

I flame myself for being on here when I should be studying for my test this afternoon.

LFF to the KG's and their tech team for some of the board improvements. Yes, the color is harsh and it's not as user friendly but I'm loving the notifications, spell checker, saving drafts, and proper sorting.

I will add that I too get confused about stickies vs. regular posts. Knot Jackie, can you ask the design team about that? It would make life a whole lot easier when you first click on a board.

Also, anyone else feel the need to open every thread (even if you've already read it) just to get it marked as read? Or is that just me?

  • kmmssg: NEY, 2nd page. The title has a :D at the end.

I flame the ugly layout. And I flame my mom's boyfriend for trying to take over our mother's day plans. Just because you were passed out drunk and couldn't make it to dinner on her Birthday doesn't mean it's ok for you to make lobsters for just you and her at our house. Why don't you just do it on Saturday night?
