Were slightly slacking.. WOD!

Hey ladies!  I was for sure slacking last week (I dont think I worked out at all /= )

What have you guys been doing for workouts/ plan to do this week??


Since my dress was a little snug, I need to up the cardio intervals and body circuits!! 

today I had a welcome back to the gym shake out.. with 
-20 minute run/jog (about 5.7) on the treadmill with a 2 min walk break at min 10. 
-Stretched
-2x 3min on the rower, the cardio one..

  • Noting today, Monday's at work are exhausting and I just don't have it in me to get in the gym today. Maybe FH and I will take a nice long walk with the dog once it cools off a bit. I have my first fitting on Sunday so I want to step it up this week to get the most out of my appointment. 

    Tomorrow I have a session with my trainer. We usually do 30 mins of circuit training and I follow it up with 30-45 mins of cardio. 

    Wednesday I am going to do my best to get some laps in at the pool. 

    Thursday I'll be back in the gym for arms, abs, and cardio. 

    Friday - Sunday I'll be "off" because I'm travelling home to Michigan for my shower/bachelorette/dress fitting. 

    I've lost 50ish pounds since buying my dress and I plan to loose at least 10 more before the wedding. My seamstress is aware of this, so she's going to focus on my hem/bustle this appointment and do all of the taking in in June. 
  • I was traveling Thursday-this morning but I did get my 3 work outs in last week! If I'm still alive after work tonight I'll workout but who knows since I only slept for 3 hours on the plane this morning before I got to the office. Oy.

    I think I need to start using my lunch break as work-out breaks.

    @wheels my last flight threw me off completely! Ifelt terrible all last week because of it!

    But I definitely need to step it up a ton! Fi is done with grad school and track season is over, so I offivally have a workout buddy!

    @wheels987 good for you! And good idea with the lunch workouts - I'd like to start doin my runs then, too, since I am so tired now from my new job + commute ugh. FI and I are going to start my dust-collecting bridal boot camp DVDs tonight (I SWEAR). We made a pact that we are going to support each other full-on during these last seven weeks. We ate terribly last week/weekend and never worked out.

  • Just got back from cardio kickboxing!! Kicked my butt!!! I wear a heart rate monitor and I burned a little under 700 calories, woo!!

    I actually weighed myself and am at what I wanted my wedding weight to be!!!!!!! SO happy!!!! :):):) I've lost 18 pounds...didn't think I could do it but I'm so proud and happy that I did!!!
  • Ugh. My problem with my weight loss goals is honestly that something always seems to come up riiiiight as I start making progress. I was on a really good roll, noticing some awesome changes in my body, but then I got a monster sinus infection, and I didn't work out for a week. I've got pretty major thyroid issues (as in, I don't even have one anymore because they removed it three years ago) and it makes weight loss a bit extra interesting. However, last week, despite feeling like a bucket of poo, I dragged myself to Pilates. I LOVE my Pilates instructor. She totally kicks my butt! My goal for this month is to bring my mile time from 12:00 minutes to 9:00 minutes. Right now I'm at 10:50.
  • @kls i am soo jealous youre at your wedding weight! iahve 3 more pounds to go! but it shouldnt be too terrible to get there since i havent been working out too much these past two weeks! (fingers crossed, knock on wood) Congrats on meeting your goal. 


    I honestly (I know this is going to make me sound bad) want to be able to see my shoulder blades more (in a muscular way, not an I dont eat) kinda way.. And I kinda always envisioned myself looking like a proportioned bobble head... Like "oh wow, she really got in shape and looks great for her wedding" kinda deal.. Like a transformation.. I need to kick it up! 
  • Wow @1FairMaiden - that's a great goal!! A 12min mile to a 9min mile is a huge difference!!! Get it, girrrrl!!!

    @crysspears - 3 more lbs is nothing!!! Seriously though, the thing that made a huge difference with me is group exercise. I always think that I'll have a good workout doing cardio and free weights, but nothing beats the motivation of working out with a room of people! I highly highly recommend BodyPump, especially if you're looking to tone up! My sister just got her doctorate in physical therapy and I used to workout with her all the time...she's ridiculous (kills me when I workout with her) and even she loves what BodyPump has done to her body! Just say'n! :)

  • I haven't done anything more than my usual-just Taekwondo a few nights a week.  Actually tonight, FI and I have a testing for our next ranks!  Wish us luck!

    Also, I'm WICKED excited that I've lost enough weight to be right at 200 pounds!  I haven't officially gone under the mark yet, but I know it's close.  I've lost about 35 pounds, and I'm feeling awesome about it!  I had an initial goal weight, but gave up on that pretty fast-I'm the type to get disappointed and stressed if I don't get there by x date.  I'll still keep trying though!

    Congrats to everyone on sticking with it!  I can't believe we're getting married soon!

    @kls - That's awesome! I don't really have a specific weight goal, but if I could get to what my driver's license says, I'd be happy :)  I also agree with the motivation of working out with a room full of people. I definitely push myself harder than when I'm by my lonesome.

  • Ugh I only worked out once last week and didn't work out last night because I had a meeting with my wedding coordinator. I really want to go to the gym tonight but we're trying to submit an offer on a house tonight and have a meeting with our loan guy so idk if I'll make it. Definitely going to UJAM tomorrow night though, Zumba Friday morning, and Water Aerobics Saturday morning. I've been wanting to check out body pump, hopefully next week I'll make it to a class!

    I finally worked out last night and am back on the health eating wagon this week (okay, two days, but still :))

    Good job everyone - I also pictured me on my wedding day looking like a "transformed" bride. UGH honestly I have no clue why during a time when it should matter the most, I've had the hardest time consistently working out. I've been doing it for years and suddenly now have no real motivation.

    Part of it is massive life change - new job, new engagement, new home all at once - but still those are semi-excuses.

    Let's see if we can keep it up!

  • @drg424 I thought the same exact thing! I thought it'd be so easy, because its our wedding. but its not easy! But as of now I'm in do or die mode! I want/need to look good in my dress and for Maui!

    Honeymoon is a huge motivator....but the wedding week is too! We'll be on the Cape from the 4th through the 7th....with family and friends...on the beach in a bathing suit...ggguuuuhhhh...
    I'm feeling a little better about it but I'm determined to feel amazing!

    I didn't get to workout last night...I was having "one of those days" and was just in a "go home and curl up in bed" mood. The awful woman that I posted about recently is all that relatives and friends want to talk about and I'm so sick about dealing with it! She has totally left her mark!! She most recently contacted my cousin (who she talked absolute trash about me to) asking her if she can watch her girls (the junior bridesmaids...who are the only ones in the family still in the wedding) since they aren't attending any of the festivities. My cousin texted me about it and doesn't know what to do...she's either going to lose her sh*t or not respond.
    I'm SO sad that we are 45 days away and this is the stuff I'm dealing with. It has put a big dark cloud over everything and I'm trying to hard to move past it...

    ANYWAYS!!! (sorry for the kind of off-topic vent)

    Soooo yeah, no working out yesterday and probably not today either. I have work, tutoring, and then hair appointment!!! I'm going a tidbit lighter so I'm super excited for that!
    We have a fieldtrip to the zoo on Thursday (god help me) and tutoring after that, so my goal is to go to BodyPump at 5:30am....wish me luck!!! haha!

    I just realized I didnt even post my workout from yesterday!
    Warmup 
    4x10 Deadlift 
    4xlength of large room walking lunges with barbell
    2x8 jumpsquats
    2x6 lunge exchange

    My butt was on FIRE and twitching so I couldnt get to set 3 or 4 of the lunge exchange or jump squat. Which doesnt fail for today, I HURT SO BAD!! yay, getting a tighter bootayyy (= 

    Today, Im planning on a 10 minute run on the treadmill.
    Then stretching and upper body (depending on how I feel) 
    -Row or inverted row, -incline bench -shoulder raises -military press -Tricep dips.. and im going now so well see what happens!
  • Wednesday is food truck day at work and my co-worker informed me that there's a new truck today called 'The Melt'...fancy grilled cheese and soups! GAHH! Good thing I brought a chicken salad, blackberries, and veggies for lunch or I'd probably give in. And I'm definitely going to the gym tonight, can't wait! FI has been on crutches since Friday so we haven't been going on any walks and he certainly can't be my gym buddy so I'm getting restless for sure!

  • I loooove fancy grilled cheese! Hate coworkers tempting mewth food. It actually infuriates me to be honest. Like "hey have some chips, want a cookie?" No i don't get that garbage out of my face! (this happend yesterday) I hate thatmore than anything really. I did go to the gym today though and did all that stuff.. @wheels I'm jealous of hike night. Ive wanted to hike with fi for over a year!
  • Went for a pretty intense hike last night. Oy. About half way through I was asking myself why in the world I chose to do the elevation hike! But I did it, and now I'll feel better about flying to Boston tomorrow morning for party weekend!
  • So the food trucks followed me even after work! I went to help my mom at her book fair for Open House night at her school (she's a librarian) and the grilled cheese food truck was there taunting me again! Haha. Still didn't give in though and even though I was dead tired last night I still made it to the gym and felt great after an awesome U-Jam class.

    But today, was a glorious day! I resisted cake at work! (im have some for FIs graduation this weekend) and I resisted cinnabon samples!!
  • What's on everyone's workout agenda this week?

    I'm planning to go to Body Combat tonight at the gym. Body Pump or U-Jam tomorrow, Zumba on Thursday, and Water Exercise on Saturday.

    I ate terribly this weekend. But I went to the grocery store last night and planned yummy healthy meals for the rest of the week!

  • yeeeeeaaahhhh....totally cheated yesterday!!!! Woke up feeling sooooo bloated and gross!!!

    I did bodypump tonight and ran a quick 8-min mile before to get my heart rate going! All-in-all, a 600 calorie burned workout! (love my heart rate monitor!!!)

    On Saturday I did spin....obsessed with it! 700calories burned in the 55-minute ride! Such an amazing workout! Struggled the following morning, quads were on fire!!!!

    @misskristenwed84403 - what is BodyCombat?!?!?! It sounds right up my alley!!! Why have I not heard of it before?!?!? (by the way, nice name!!! I'm a Kristen with and -en too! Those -in kristin's are trouble)
  • today  i did a 5min warmup, sl leg press, walking lunges, abduction machine, and abs.. not too much, but got some sweat and heart pumping 
  • @kls oh yay, I love meeting other KristEns! Your parents chose wisely lol

    I got sick yesterday and didn't end up going to BodyCombat but it sounds similar to Turbo Kick Boxing to me. Even though I felt awful, I still did a light workout at home, took a hot shower and went to bed early :-) Feeling refreshed today and looking forward to the gym tonight!

    I ran 40 minutes (a little over 4 miles) last night and it felt damn good. We're headed to a casino resort this weekend though and they have the best chicken wings I've ever had. So yeah, the weekend will be a bust - but a much deserved one :)
  • I did 30 minutes walking on an incline on the treadmill at varying intensities. I'm dying to run again but my physical therapist doesn't want me to. If anyone has any good ideas for low impact cardio that would be wonderful. I've been walking, swimming and sometimes the elliptical although that's not my favorite. I like having variety in my workouts. Any suggestions? I had back, hip and leg problems so I can't do anything harsh.
